2.7 Eastwood Minster Mild Cask (gravity dispense) at the Bricklayers Arms Yorkshire Beer Festival on 24 February 2011. Copper colour - definitely a light mild. Not much condition. Thin collar of foam. Very dry with a little more tangy hop than expected. Malts are a little clammy on the nose. A bit thin in the mouth. Not packed with flavour, although I guess that is to be expected. I’m not really a big fan of light milds - when drinking a beer that is intentionally mild I prefer the additional presence imparted by the darker malts. Monday, February 28, 2011

3.3 Eastwood Best Bitter A Mes rate: Gravicask at the Bricklayers. Clean light golden brown colour with a good head and some nice condition. Straight forward bitter hops and earthy malt. Very well balanced. Middle of the road session stuff for sure. Nice creamy feel from the malt and a lengthy grassy hop finish turning more bitter as it fades. Wednesday, February 27, 2008

3.3 Eastwood Black Prince Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Initial hops in this menacing, black brew, then a crazy, hardcore, bitter and ashy charcoal finish. Thin in the mouth, and the over-the-top aftertaste is almost unpleasant. Wednesday, August 31, 2005

2.6 Eastwood Stirling Bitter Cask conditioned - Handpump - Wellington Birmingham. A golden orangey coloured beer with very little aroma to speak of. The taste is on the sweet side and very thin. It’s really quite dull and unexciting all round without being nasty. Monday, February 14, 2005

2.2 Eastwood Star Struck Santa Cask conditioned - handpump - Alexandra Arms Kettering A golden ale which has a bit of a sour aroma. The taste is hoppy but the hops seem a bit old tasting. Clearly the beer was past its best. Tuesday, December 14, 2004

3.5 Eastwood Dangles Demon Droop Roses, Woolwich. Pale amber session bitter with bubble crescent head. Dry palate. Citric saw buzz which lingers pleasantly with mostly grapefruit flavours. A clean, crisp, refreshing and flavoursome ale of character and quality. Why drink lager when you can have something as good as this? Friday, March 26, 2004
