Unclear medium orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, rice, carame, old malt, pepper. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, and a moderate to heavy peppery finish. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20090320]

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a small off-white head. Dry malty and slight malty aroma. Flavour has a distinct rice-malty base flavour with a light citric bitterness coming through. Dry malty and slight rice like. Ends dry.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet with strong spicy notes as well as strong notes of cedarwood. The flavor is very spicy, cinnamon etc. As weel as strong notes of cedarwood, leading to a dry woody and spicy finish. Very Interesting.

Bottled. Amber colour, big off-white head. Aroma is fruits, marzipan, quite sweet nutmeglike notes as well as some mild spices. Flavour is wood, mild smoked wet things as well as spices and quite nutty. Mild vanilla. Very different, yet pleasant brew.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes orangegoldenes Bier mit sehr viel Schaum. Geruch leicht malzig fruchtig, blumig. Geschmack leicht fruchtig malzig, dezent herb, wenig exotisch fruchtig, dennoch gut trinkbaren Bier.

11.2 oz. bottle, pours dark orange with a white head. Interesting aroma of cedar, wood, rice, and wheat. Flavour is similar with the cedar, spices, wood and rice being most pronounced. Not sure how this qualifies as an IPA.

Bottle. Hazy orange red coloured with a small off white head. Sweet and fruity aroma of caramel and dried fruits with notes of alcoholc and wood. Sweet and fruity flavour of caramel and liquorice with notes of alcohol, wood and dried fruits. Warming alcoholic finish.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2010 Bottled. Hazy amber, rich firm head. Strong perfumy cedar aroma. Medium sweet and medium bodied Densely malty with this very evident and unique woody cedar character. Fruity, yet elegant with piney bitter finish. Interesting, unique and mindblowingly tasty!

Bottle at home 7.5% ...copper ... big white head ... sweet little spicy hop ... peppery ... little floral in nose ... big resins hop ... quite fruity with a bitter linger ... definit pepperyness .. quite nice.

14th August 2008. Hazy red amber beer. Initially a little malty but then blooms to a rich woody taste that I assume is the cedar casks gift to this beer. Not sweet and vanilla like oak but aromatic and strong. Dry woody finish. Off the beaten track!
