You could make a case for any number of major European cities (Amsterdam, Brussels, Rome...) but if what you’re looking for is a *pub* then London will probably have the most to offer.

London. It’s called the Southampton Arms.

But the King William the Fourth (aka Brodie’s) is pretty fun, too.

Thank you for your replies. therunningbar, after reading how much a beer cost in Sweden I prefer eastern europe.

Cliff, I can’t find the city Bamberg in places here.

yeah, a craft beer (usually US pint size) would be around 9-11 USD depending on place (1-1.1 Euro) in Göteborg.

3 Små Rum is a great place as stated above.

Prague/Praha (Czech Rep) with surroundings is one of the places I return to the most, Plzen and Brno also very good and easy to reach by train from Prague

Berlin, München, Köln and Düsseldorf are great for Germany

In Belgium I enjoyed Leuven far more than Brussels as a city and beer places to hang and relax for great beers

Others that have been great:
Copenhagen (also fairly expensive), Tallinn, Helsinki (not very cheap eitehr I guess)

I found the Southampton a little small and claustrophobic,

its not that i didnt like it, just dont see what all the fuss is about.

Say "beer drinking establishment" rather than "pub".

Nowadays I’d say some of the truly best beer pubs in the world can be found in

Rome (several)
Antwerp (Kulminator)
Brussels and nearby (Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Heeren van Liedekercke)
London (many several!)
Stockholm (Akkurat)
Gothenburg (several, 3 små rum being the best)
Copenhagen (Mikkel bar and more)
Bamberg (several)

Prague was always full of great pubs, even though their selection was pretty limited. But now, the "czech beer miracle" causes a superb number of superb pubs with a superb selection: Zlý Časy, U Bulovky - Richter, Pivovarský dum and so on.......
In Germany Bamberg is the best place, no doubt...
No doubt, too, that a London pub crawl can be heavenly pleasure...
