Pairing with smoked salmon?

If anything, sour and smoked beers would obscure the delicate smoked characteristics of the salmon. Personally, I’d go with a malt forward lager like a Munich Helles, Dortmunder, or even a bock. Kolsch or altbier could work as well (even though they’re not true lagers), but they might even be too bitter for the fish.
