Given that it is allegedly stronger than most cask strength whiskey, and has not been properly distilled, it will almost assuredly taste like shit. The whole point of distillation is to clean up the alcohol and get rid of the crap. Concentrating a force fermented beer is just a ridiculous idea...

Calling malt, hops and yeast character "crap". That’ll make you popular on Ratebeer :)

No, I was specifically referencing the yeast profile/alcohol profile. There is a reason that beer only ferments so far.

Well, some of the crap that makes the difference between destilled 60% alcohol, and ice concentrated 60% alcohol is the actual beer flavour. Sure it tastes like crap after that treatment, but when it’s technically possible, why not experiment...

I get that, It had more to do with the fact that distilled 120proof booze is harsh enough most of the time, let alone fractionally frozen booze...

Some ratings already, almost all say that its hard to imagine that this beer is 65% ABV, more like 20-25% ABV. So unless they finally show some laboratory results, I dont believe that.

agree. but we can not judge one beer if we are not judging the rest. i have had plenty of 20+ beers where i 99,9% sure the abv wasn’t as claimed.

i don’t believe this beer is 65%. and if it is, i dont believe it is done by ice destillation alone. but what can we do about it?

Totally agreed. There is no way this beer is 65%, its 25% if its lucky. Having tasted a good sample of it, it tastes more like the strength of port. Not even the naughtiest 40%ish spirits in the world are as smooth as this, and having had all of the super strength beers which are all fairly harsh, this is no where near them.

Ya, without third-party verification of the abv via lab testing, their claim is baseless.
