70 Excellent bottle selection in my tourist opinion
And that was what I wanted!

40 As said by others, nothing special at all and only worth mentioning as there aren't other beer shops in the centre. Beers you find everywhere for better prices and many beers also seemed like collecting dust on the shelf since months. |
48 Had beter ratebeer gecheckt voordat ik hier even binnen ging. Echt een nachtshop die overdag open is, de flessen in de etalage hebben te lang in de zon gestaan en zijn afgeschoten! |
38 Small shop with about 50 to 100 different beers, all of them Belgian and mostly well-known. Some bottles are directly exposed to the sunlight, even the labels are sometimes bleached, so if you want to buy something, choose wisely which bottles you take. Nothing special to find here, but at least it’s open on Sundays and close to a few other beer destinations. Prices were quite okay, but if I lived here I would not come back again, even supermarkets seem to be the better option if you consider the poor storage of the beers. |
48 Night shop open by day including Sundays, always handy to get cigarettes or something, but I never actually bought beer here until I stumbled upon one single tick I hadn't tasted yet. The owner, who also effectively runs a night shop at another place in the city, is of North African descent and a very friendly guy whom I've known for years, but obviously he does not know anything about beer. Selection boasts most of the Belgian classics, but nothing you won’t find anywhere else in Ghent (including pubs) and I cannot recommend buying bottles which have been standing out in daylight for an extended amount of time either... Never seriously considered this to be a beer destination - until I accidentally saw it mentioned here... |
46 As Jef said, this place looks like a night shop. Prices are along the same line. Selection is nice, about 100 bottles I’d say. |
46 This place looks like a night shop with a lot of beers. A lot of beers are stored in direct sun light. Prices are high. Tourist trap! For good beer, go to the Hopduvel, a 15 minutes walk. |
40 This is basically another night shop disguised as a beer store or a night shop doubling as a beer store. A tourist trap evidently pointless given that De Hopduvel is only about 10 min. from here with public transport. I know that given the opening hours this is technically not a night shop but everything about this place screams night shop & considering that it isn’t even open till late, this place seems less than pointless for beer geeks. |
44 very small selection ( i’d guess 50 beers ? ) nothing special, regular prices fot this type of shop skip this , and go to geers or hopduvel i’d say .. |
42 Can I say this out loud? Tourist trap! Leave it for the tourists, and hit the other beer shop within walking distance. You know which one I’m talking of.
MESSAGE FOR FOREIGNERS VISITING GENT: if you read this, you’re probably planning a visit to Belgium, and Gent in particular. I’m always interested to get to know other ratebeerians, and if you come from an interesting country, we can maybe to an in person beer trade? Contact me! |
