48 Well, it's an airport, so the usual things to expect. Duty free with some six packs and prices lower than the Icealndic standard, but still on teh expensive side for an average traveller (some Icealndic beers, some Faroe and Greenland beers as well, and some of the usual suspects). There's a restaurant that also serves some beers and Loksins bar, two locations, that already has a separate entry. At least you can find soem good beers in this airport. |
64 As noted by other reviewers, the main aspect of the Airport if the duty free upon entry and exit. Minimal selection of Icelandic beers, available as six packs or a few samples packs. There was one Faroe Island sample pack available as well. Though expensive, prices are better than elsewhere in Iceland. Probably worth grabbing a six pack of Borg on the way in. In addition to Duty Free, I ate and drank at Nord restaurant after security and before the gates. Decent selection of bottled beers from Ölvisholt and Einstock. 64 = ** (Just ok) I only use the total score, not the component parts. |
48 First time visitor to Iceland. Sort of hard to rate the whole airport in one rating when it comes to various tax free stores and restaurants. When arriving, you seem only allowed to shop at the arrivals tax free store next to the baggage claims, you're not even allowed to eat at the restaurants. On the other hand, you are actually allowed to shop tax free on arrival! Yes, including alcohol and tobacco. The prices are very very high, though tax and VAT free, I heard that the airport have raised the rent so that the prices are still very high. Arrived on Thursday July 5, 2018. Got two 6 packs of beer from the arrivals tax free. The selection here was kind of poor, and you had to buy 6 packs of all the beers. We picked up two 6 packs of cans and then headed out. Upon departure, after security, we were there again on Thursday July 12, 2018. Bigger selection of beer around, including some mix packs and singles, depending on which store you went to. Also ate at one of the restaurants for departing passengers, which was to our surprise quite fair in prices on both food and beer. Selection of beer was poor, they did have a Borg Ulfur IPA on tap though. Not a bad airport overall, though again, the "tax free" selection is quite expensive, for sure less expensive than in Iceland itself, but a lot of the times more expensive than if I were to buy the same or similar product in Sweden (which is not very cheap). If you are a arriving passenger heading into Iceland, and you are not only searching for ticks but some alcohol to have for the trip itself, good idea to pick something up here. |
56 This is an airport so don’t expect any ambience or service. However, prices are cheap by Icelandic standards and the option to bring Icelandic beers with you is worth a few minutes of you time. Only letdown is that you only can buy sixpacks. |
60 If this is a review of the whole of the set-up at Keflavik airport let me add that as a stop-over (Bristol-Toronto) the sight of six beers from microbrewery Borg and a large-ish open sandwich of Icelandic smoked salmon, avocado & egg was a far better prospect than at most European airports. |
76 Selection is large, taking all the bars and duty free stores into account. Too bad you can only buy sixpacks in the dutyfree stores. Search singles at the other places. Prices are better than inside Iceland. |
64 Nice selection of beer in all shops. Good bars as well when thirsty before fligth. When coming back then the duty free has OK selection of beer. Remember to buy in duty free, as the price is considerable better than in alcohol stores in Iceland. |
70 Certainly better than the average airport, with six-packs in the duty-free, and a reasonable range of single bottles in the Iceland Delicacies store, plus a pop-up bar in the middle of the shopping area with several Christmas beers on tap. |
