Ernest	2.6 Bier Brewery Good Pils Can. Head is initially average sized, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs), with a light note of concrete. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Thankfully not as dirty as the Brew95, but still pretty disappointing...rough/husky malt and a bit crudely phenolic. Kinda industrial smelling. Not terrible but not good either. Ernest	1.5 Bier Brewery Brew95 Can. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (cereal, grain), trace hops (herbs), with notes of celery, creamed corn, plastic, and hair spray. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Light to medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation. The nose is really dirty/unpleasant, and the aftertaste is correspondingly dirty. Not really anything else going on to save it. A repulsive drain pour, which is especially sad for an anniversary beer that should have gotten more attention/care. Tuesday, July 11, 2023

jgb9348	3.7 Bier Brewery Weizengoot Hefeweizen Hazy blonde and raw honey coloured body with a very thin, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of bright yeast, a ton of coriander seed freshness and a lot of crisp wheat along with a bit of curacao and full oranges. Medium-bodied; Robust wheat richness shows at first with a lot of the citrus fruit flavours, some spiciness from the coriander seed and even some nutmeg here noticeable, with a dry wheat finish and a very soft amount of low alpha acid bitterness from hops at the end. Aftertaste is very rich and very easy-drinking thanks to the wheat here with a crisp yeast bite and some light spicy qualities at the end with the coriander seed and curacao coming through. Overall, a pretty nice German unfiltered wheat with a lot of citrus notes, but the wheat, yeast and easy-drinking, full-bodied nature make this very nice and worth trying if you are here in the summertime. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized pour, on draught at The Eagle restaurant in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana on 09-August-2021 for US$6,00 with my wife and kids on my twelfth wedding anniversary. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (grapefruit, herbs), with light notes of butter, vegetables. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean/vegetal/husky. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Dirty and clunky like the Baseline IPA, though not quite as bad. Drain pour again from Bier, unfortunately. Saturday, April 14, 2018

Aroma is lightly malty (caramel, grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (apricot, orange), with notes of rancid butter, vegetables, fabric softener sheets. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, unclean. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. A pretty dirty affair, and not the good kind. Off notes galore detract from the fruity hops, and the aftertaste is grimace-inducing for the same reason, along with being syrupy sweet. Drain pour for me. Friday, April 13, 2018

Aroma is moderately malty (cocoa powder, roasted grain), with a light note of vanilla. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively/soft carbonation. Pretty simple nose and too sweet in the mouth...the miniscule 14 IBU really shows here, it's basically just roasty chocolate sugar water. Seems clean but it's just not any fun to drink.
