Gangstergafje	3.4 RedWillow Feckless 26-04-2024; can; at home (bought at Systembolaget, Karlstad, Sweden). The beer looks nice. It is a clear golden brew with a nice golden glow. On top there is quite a thick layer of soft foam. Foam retention is quite high. A nice thick layer stays on for quite some time. Nice. The aroma is nice. Malts give some nice caramel and bready aromas. Nice and crisp. There is some nice biscuit and some toffee in there too. Hops give some nice herbal aromas, together with some leafy notes. Yeast gives a slight fruitiness. The taste of the beer is quite nice. Sweet malts and bitter hops, some sweet yeast notes. The beer is quite bitter, but not overwhelming. It is well balanced. Nice. The mouthfeel is also nice. Medium-light body and a crisp texture. The finish of the beer is also quite nice. It has a robust bitterness, some nice herbal hops and a slight yeast sweetness. Malty flavours initially to the fore with this, dryish and really quite bitter. Peachy, stoned fruit flavours then come through. A little heavy on the palate. It's fine. Friday, April 26, 2024

Taste is also pretty sweet. Some dryness. Medium body is a little slick for style. Foamy carbonation. Finishes fairly sweet and biscuity. Too sweet overall for me. Saturday, April 6, 2024

Indeed it was a very English IPA with a nice grippy ending and English hop profile...which were perhaps a little jacked up for a trad English IPA but no complaints. The aroma is dark roasted malt, bitter - sweet, dark chocolate, cacao nibs, rocky road, good hit of Islay whisky, medicinal, bonfire, vanilla cake frosting, tobacco and tunnocks tea cake. The taste is slick, oily, bitter - sweet, dark roasted malt, slightly charred, bonfire, peat reek, Islay whisky, plenty of chocolate, gateaux, dark chocolate torte, vanilla cake frosting, toasted marshmallow, tunnocks tea cake, chocolate bourbons, some spice and alcohol warmth in the backdrop.
