Can on the ferry back from Fort Sumter. Enjoyed during massive winds on the water and on the 163rd anniversary of the start of the Civil War. Pours clear, light gold. Solid grain on both the aroma and flavor. Crisp finish. Nice beer.

12 oz. can from the brewery. Thanks Ashley! Pours a clear dark bronze color with a small khaki head and fair retention. A few spots of lacing. Sweet caramel malt aroma. Sweet caramel malt flavor too, but not cloying, with a clean and smooth finish. Simple profile. Medium-light body. Medium carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Zero bitterness. Very repeatable.

Holy City Washout Wheat
12 oz. can from the brewery. Thanks Ashley! Pours a cloudy yellow-gold color with a small white head and fair retention. Almost no lacing. Light wheat ale aroma with a hint of clove. The taste follows the nose: Thicker wheat ale flavor with light clove and a light citrus finish. Not my favorite style, but a better than average Hefeweizen, IMHO. Medium-light body. Medium carbonation. Zero bitterness.

Holy City Pluff Mud Porter
on tap @ Joe's Bar and Grill/North Myrtle Beach SC - Opaque brown/black color, deep tan head that settles to the rim, lace dots. Aroma of rich malt. Taste is malt with straight bittering that moves through the palate to a long finish. A rustic, enjoyable porter, lots of body, lots of flavor.

Folly Time Juicy Pale Ale
A beer meant to remind you of looking at the dolphins in the ocean, and the bikini bottoms on babes, all while skipping the traffic and jellyfishes that comes along with a beach trip. It’s okay an okay beer, dedicated to the hippy beach known as Folly. Alc/Vol: 5.5% Price: Top Shelf Rating: 3/5

Holy City Overly Friendly IPA
It comes with your standard citrus and grass clippings smell/taste, and has a medium hazy color. It is refreshing to the tongue, with a slight aftertaste bite. The can is kind of annoying to look at, but it’s a solid IPA. Alc/Vol: 6.9% Price: Middle Shelf Rating: 3.5/5

Holy City Pilsner
12 oz. can. Thanks Ashley! Pours a hazy yellow-gold color with a white head and good retention. Spotty lacing. Light pilsner malt aroma. Stronger pilsner malt flavor (versus the aroma), and enough sweet malt to balance, with a clean finish. Sharp, crisp mouthfeel, as it should be. Medium-high carbonation. Medium body. Medium bitterness, but not a hoppy flavor. Very refreshing on a hot day. A proper pilsner.

Holy City Pluff Mud Porter
12 oz. can. Thanks Ashley! Pours a brown-black color with a small tan head and poor retention. No lacing. Very light roasted nut aroma. Light flavors of dark malt and some chocolate with a short finish. Light, watery body. Thin mouthfeel. Low carbonation. No bitterness. I like the flavors but it needs more body.

Holy City Pilsner
Can (May 16, 2023 canning). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is light to medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (herbs, lemon oil, grass, flowers), with a light note of spearmint. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Pretty nice...very fragrant hops and assertively bitter.

Pours golden with a slightly frothy white head. Nose displays plenty of ethanol and a modest dose of bitter hops. Flavor is more subdued than expected and similar to the nose, if not a touch sweeter. Finish is quick. Decent but a little boozy.

Holy City Overly Friendly IPA
Pretty clear, but ever so slightly hazy golden and light orange coloured body with a nice two to three centimetre tall pure white head that stays afloat nicely. Aroma of dry and quite bitter orange peel and grapefruit notes with a pretty noticeable wheat scent and a soft sweetness on the finish, but the hops really dominate the smell here. Medium-bodied; Strong grasy and very citrusey hop flavours show at first with a pretty noticeable malt bite as well that has some biscuity notes and finishes with a touch of sugars from caster sugar, but also the citrus fruit. Aftertaste shows some smooth sweetness and malty components here near the end, but there is a steady stream of bitterness from the hops that finishes this nicely. Good to sample while here locally for vacation. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Hyman's Seafood Restaurant on New Year's Eve 2021 with my family in Charleston, South Carolina on 31-December-2021 for US$6,00.

$2 can in my mix a six from Ingles. No dating. Pint glass @home. Off-black, russet hued, filtered pour. Tall, frothy pale cocoa head evaporates somewhat quickly, like a meringue taken out the oven too soon. Second pour cascades a little more. Smells of weak coffee, burnt brown sugar, calcium, subtle char smoke. Mellow white toast charred crust sweetness, burnt brown sugar, light cocoa nibs, some cola, earth, calcified finish. Thin, low abv, slight acidity, bittersweet. Pretty good.

The pour from a can Fresh Out of the Creek on 06/24/2021 produces a medium-sized head that quickly falls away with minimal lacing to create a deeply brown, thin body. The aroma is light chocolate, lighter lactose and lightest vanilla. It has a hint of sweetness that continues through the finish. An easy drinker that would probably be just fine an a cool summer evening. On this cold winter evening, it's even better.
