Medium-heavy bitter. Charcoal and liquorice. Tart berries. Underlying malty chocolate. Medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. There are slightly musty malts to the fore, biscuit that has been hanging around the bottom of the biscuit barrel for months, damp, mushroom. There is a note of Marmite, caramel, some bitterness. Grumbo	3.5 Two Cocks 1643 Puritan 7/3/2020. Bottle at my Birthday bottle share, bought at Three Trees Farm Shop, Chiseldon. Pours very dark ruby brown with a small frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma of liquorice, ash, tar, roasted malt, dark fruits, chocolate and toffee. Medium sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, slight creamy texture, average to soft carbonation.
