corkyrory66	1.4 Schubros Festivus Miracle Bière de 8 % abv, aromatisée pour les fêtes. Au menu : cannelle, vanille, muscade et cardamome .. on va s'amuser ! Mon exemplaire était à plusieurs années après sa date. Couleur marron foncé, voilé. Mousse brun foncé, en nappage de surface. Arômes d'épices dans une soupe de pommes de pin .. 1ère bouche avec un mélange anis/cake/pointe de vodka. Arrière-bouche plutôt caramélisée, vague. 2ème bouche avec épices, résine, pointe de cacao moulu Arrière-bouche assez indéfinissable ... Longueur qui me laisse pantois devant autant d'à-peu-près .. Jambes lisses, courtes. Levure très faible Alcool sous son niveau, il pédale pour trouver les épices de la fête .. Finale pas festive pour un sou CONCLUSION : cette bière est facile à résumer : ''ni festivus ni miraculus" … On est pantois devant un aussi pauvre sens de la fête !! joeneugs	3.7 Schubros USS Lind DIPA On tap at the Pacific Standard Taproom in Berkeley. It pours a lightly hazed pale yellow color with a white head. The aroma is nice with some stone fruit, passionfruit and hints of honey bread. The flavor has passionfruit, peach, light herbals and pine with sweet honey-like malts. Very little caramel. The hops are definitely front and center on this one. Full bodied and creamy on the palate. Medium to high piney/floral bitterness. Pretty nice. Probably the best hoppy beer I’ve had from these guys. corkyrory66	1.2 Schubros Aalbeke Bière de 8,6 % abv, qui n’est pas du tout une "belgian strong", même si elle est brassée chez Gulden Spoor, ou alors il faudra que l’on m’explique ce qu’est une belgian strong …mais j’en ai déjà dégusté 276, donc je crois savoir … Mon exemplaire était à 14 mois après sa date. Couleur roux, avec beaucoup de matières en suspension. Bulles nulles (tiens, ça rime). Mousse beige, à flocons fins, rasant la surface. Arômes aigres d’oignons et lard. 1ère bouche souple avec l’aigre de la vinaigrette, mais aussi une pointe d’eau de rose !! Arrière-bouche sur du lambic avec quelques lardons. 2ème à la texture très agréable, mais pour le reste rien. Arrière-bouche sur des brett avec une pointe de grenade. 3ème à la belle texture toujours, et une aigreur sans harmonie aucune. Arrière-bouche sur un tout petit barley wine. Longueur avec des arachides, du lambic, aucune saveur noble .. Jambes courtes, un peu collantes. Levure au goût de moisi, ligne très faible. Alcool correct, mais il n’aide en rien aux saveurs. Finale un rien mieux. CONCLUSION : une bière indigne d’une américaine, surtout faite en Belgique !! Saturday, October 22, 2016

BrewNet	4 Schubros Ship to Shore: BB-1 DIPA On tap at the brewery, as "BB-4". Roger Lind is the brewer. Deep straw yellow color heading toward orange, medium white head with long-lasting lacing, cloudy appearance (in a good way). I believe it features Simcoe hops: woody, pungent, earthy, slightly more citrusy than piney. Finishes slightly dry as if wood-aged, but the hops may account for that. Good balance of supportive malt with the hops. Very enjoyable DIPA, around 7.4% ABV. Thursday, May 19, 2016

joeneugs	3.4 Schubros Ship to Shore: BB-1 DIPA On tap at Artistic Table. It pours a deep orange gold color with an off white head. The aroma has some berries, honey, grapefruit and grape. The flavor is the same. Lots of sweet, maltiness but the hop character is fruity and pleasant. Clean fermentation and it does finish on a dry note as well. Not really my cup of tea, but it’s actually pretty solid as a malty DIPA. Wednesday, April 27, 2016
bytemesis	3 Schubros 680 IPA Bottle, picked up at cost plus. Pours clear Amber with a very large beige head, dissipates fairly quickly with some lacing. Aroma is malty, spiced, pine, caramel, twigs. Fatehunter	2.8 Schubros Diablo Dark Pours a finger of tan head on a black body. The aroma is roasted malt and a little chocolate. The taste is roasted malt, mild coffee and chocolate. There’s an odd bitterness running through it though. The texture is fairly smooth. Thursday, March 3, 2016

bhensonb	3.9 Schubros Inverness Capped 750 from Monument in Concord, CA. Pours coppery brown with a slight light tan head. Aroma of bourbon/whiskey from a foot away. Also treacle and maybe chocolate. Med ++ body. Flavor is bourbon/vanilla forward with some treacle and chocolate. Wood too. Not dry, but not really sweet either. Sort of light raisin kind of sweetness. Rather nicely done. cpetrone84	3.3 Schubros Midnight Cove Pour is dark brown with a bubbly tan head. Nose has a moderate bourbon and hints of wood, fair amount of dark chocolate maltiness, malts are quite roasted. Flavor is a bit sweeter than the nose would lead on. Woody and whiskey, dark chocolate, fairly rich malt, gets a bit of sugar in the taste and the feel, slightly slick on the back of the throat, assertive carb. Alengrin	3.3 Schubros Aalbeke Collab between Schubros and Gulden Spoor, bottle from Willems. Thin, irregular, off-white head retaining quite well, deep and warm amber colour with coppery hue, quiet sparkling, more or less clear initially with lots of minuscule yeast bits floating around. Fairly strong Belgian aroma of marmelade, overripe peach, banana, mango, dust, bitter honey, candied ginger and other spicy phenol effects, straw, rhum, butterscotch, vague iron but ’naturally’ so. Estery, sweet onset, very fruity with notes of banana, apricot, strawberry and orange, deep and soft sourish edge, soft carbo, supple and somewhat oily mouthfeel, very caramelly and lightly bready malt body with toasted accents, rather ’dirty’ yeasty finish with ongoing malt sweetness, earthy and peppery hop bitterishness providing sufficient balance against the initial sweetness and a clear presence of slightly astringent gin-like alcohol heating the throat. The alcohol is way too obvious here and the overall profile could do with a bit more ’cleansiness’ and less ’yeastiness’, but otherwise this is quite enjoyable. Sunday, November 22, 2015

joeneugs	3.7 Schubros Inverness On tap at the Beer Baron. It pours a deep mahogany color with a khaki head. The aroma has a nice combo of strong whiskey, brown sugar, raisin and plum. The flavor is thick and slick on the palate with a good amount of vanilla and whiskey barrel. Raisin, fig, and plummy dark fruit round out the palate before a sweet finish with more woody barrel. Schubros does these strong barrel aged beers pretty well. Better than most of the big spirit barrel aged beers I’ve had from Lost Abbey recently. Saturday, October 24, 2015
