Kleg	3.6 Saint Arnold Irish Hello 12 oz. can from HEB in Boerne, TX. Pours a clear super dark reddish-black color with a small beige head and decent retention. Zero lacing. Light roasted malts aroma. The flavor is much darker roasted than the aroma, with a little sweet caramel malt flavor too. A touch of smoke in the finish. More of an Irish red ale versus a stout. Very easy drinking, as advertised. Not dry. Thin for a stout. Low, almost flat carbonation. Zero bitterness. Great flavor for only 4.3% ABV. I like it, but I think it's mis-classified. mmmbeer	2.6 Saint Arnold Hideaway 12 oz can served in a tumbler- poured a murky sunfaded yellow orange color, 3mm white head formed that laced well upon the vessel. Aroma of limes and yeast. Hits the mouth with a light body, malt is slightly weakened, salt and lime comes in the middle, finish has an odd salty finish to it. Ok but odd. Tuesday, February 13, 2024

mmmbeer	2.9 Saint Arnold Double Down 12 oz can served in a shaker- poured a transparent copper brown color, 3mm white head formed and laced nicely upon the vessel. Aroma of pine, citrus, and caramel. Hits the mouth with an even light body, malt could have used a lot more heft to it, middle has decent hop crescent, finish is slightly acidic. Clean semi dry flavor that’s golden malty and lightly very gently biscuity with a lovely floral/leafy resin with gentle grapefruit undertones. Pretty charming. Saturday, December 16, 2023

KevinReddirt	3.5 Saint Arnold Divine Reserve #13 22 oz bottle from the brewery's cellar sale over Thanksgiving. A 10 year old beer, who knows. I view a dark red-amber body with little to no head in my tulip glass. The smell is some dark fruit, grain, a bit of sweetness and then something off the mark. The taste matches the scent mostly with figs, malt, bread, syrup, a touch of bitterness and an unfortunate amount of sourness. You take your chances, it happens. Thursday, November 30, 2023

KevinReddirt	3.9 Saint Arnold Bishop's Barrel #15 A draft pour at the brewery on Good Friday, '23, with my son and wife, while waiting in line for a treasure from St. Arnold's cellar. No head, little carbonation. Tasted of red plums, cooked grain, chocolate. I got some sourish notes, actually pretty significant, maybe the age was showing. On an empty stomach, it was fairly potent. I do enjoy a good barley wine and this certainly fulfilled that in any case. Sunday, November 26, 2023
mmmbeer	1.1 Saint Arnold H-Town Pils 12 oz can served in a mug, from H‑E‑B 620 mix a 6- poured a transparent yellow with orange shading in color, 2 mm white head formed but oddly no lacing. Aroma of dish soap and hard water- ugh oh. Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt is enjoyable but this odd rotting hops sensation comes in the middle, finish is disgusting. Bad batch perhaps? Kleg	2.7 Saint Arnold Tarnation 12 oz. bottle from HEB in Boerne, TX. Pours a crystal clear dark bronze/ mahogany color with a beige head and good retention. A few spots of lacing. Caramel and light booze aroma. Similar taste: Strong caramel notes that are quickly interrupted by a strong, long, boozy finish. Not my favorite style, but it’s better than average for a strong ale. Medium body. Light carbonation. Slick mouthfeel. Light bitterness, in spite of the 53 IBUs. The 9.0% ABV is obvious yet not harsh. Okay. Tastes better once your tongue goes numb. mmmbeer	3.3 Saint Arnold Irish Hello 12 oz can from 6er, served in a small shaker glass, from H‑E‑B Lakeline- poured a non transparent solid black color when held to a light source, 2 finger foamy tan head formed but no lacing upon the vessel. Aroma of a toasted malt and black licorice. Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt has a good amount of roast on it, middle holds up well, finish is very dry. Good stuff! Friday, November 3, 2023

Mostly clear deep tawny brown with a small off white head that dissipates quickly. Lots going on here. Caramel covered pitted fruits hints of vanilla and oak with a nice hit of warming alcohol.
