Nose is clove, phenols, and smoke; the typical tropical fruit is there, but greatly subdued. On the tongue, it works; while it’s kind of a copout to say ’smoked spiced banana’, that’s really where it went. It was a logical merging of the two flavors. PartyFowle	2.9 Draught House Funkhouser Stout Draft at the source. Assuming this is a sour stout from the name. The nose would seem to confirm these suspicions-- black cherry blends with roasted nuts and a soft layer middle layer of milk chocolate. The flavor recreates this, though bitter, burnt roast is more prominent, overlapping a haylike, barnyardy funk at the sip’s initiation and dry, tannic finish. Silky medium body; CO2 is a bit high and prickly. A little too farmhouse-dry for my tastes; becomes tiring about halfway through the glass. Thursday, April 28, 2016
