dnas2	3.3 Blackawton Headstrong Cask. Golden, cloudy with a short head. Lovely floral hoppy scent. A bit thick and sticky in the mouth. Moderate bitterness, some sweetness on the end. Hint of carbonation. Grapefruit predominates. Lots of citrus hop at the start then a little malt. Very nice at first but looses its taste after a few sips. Saturday, November 21, 2009
kiefdog	2.7 Blackawton Headstrong Pours a generally clear golden yellow with thin white head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of light fruit, light malt, some light caramel and honey. Flavor is generally the same with light notes of honey, caramel, fresh fruit. Generally light to medium body with a quick finish. Tuesday, August 25, 2009
downender	3 Blackawton West Country Gold On gravity at the Bank, Bristol 08/08/09. Clear gold in colour with a slight white head. Aroma of sweetish malts with a touch of citrus hops. Flavour of biscuits malts, summer fruits and a decent bitter finish. Ok, if not particularly memorable. Saturday, August 8, 2009

downender	3.1 Blackawton Headstrong Cask-conditioned at the Cornish Beer Festival, The Star, Bath 16/07/09. Amber coloured with next to no head. Aroma of red fruit, a touch of caramel and some dusty hops. Relatively easy drinking given the ABV, with more fruit and sweetness, and an earthy, bitter finish. Good. Thursday, July 16, 2009
downender	3.2 Blackawton 44 Special Cask-conditioned at Colston’s Yard, Bristol 16/05/09. Deep amber with a slight, white head. Orange fruit and caramel aroma, with a touch of earthiness. Flavour started with sweet malts, more fruit, leafy hops and a decent bitter finish. Good. Saturday, May 16, 2009
Quack-Duck	3.1 Blackawton Headstrong bottle from Darts Farm. Hazy deep amber colour, mid-sized head. Fruity and malty with hints of citrus fruit. Hoppy with a lemony character, es pecially in the finish. Saturday, May 9, 2009
nqualls	2.7 Blackawton Headstrong 500 mL bottle brought back from England by my wife. Poured a clear amber color with no head at all. The aroma was very malty and earthy. The flavor was fruity, with only a faint bitter finish. I’m not sure if the beer was flat, or just very softly carbonated, but it wasn’t that great. Sunday, February 8, 2009
fiulijn	2.7 Blackawton Winter Fuel <i>Cask Conditioned at Wenlock Arms, London</i> Dark mahogany color; thin creamy head. It’s an ordinary caramel brew (closer to a Mild than a Bitter), with a light cinnamon aroma and flavor. It doesn’t shake me. Monday, January 12, 2009
Quack-Duck	3.1 Blackawton Winter Fuel bottle. Hazy dark brown colour, mid-sized beige head. Malty nose with a touch of spices. Medium-bodied, malty with hints of chocolate and shy flavours of spices and herbs (cloves, cinnamon, coriander...), with a fruity sourness. All in all a bit thin, but still nice. downender	3.2 Blackawton Exhibition Ale Cask-conditioned at the Cornish beer festival, The Star, Bath 19/7/08. Amber with a decent off-white head. Sweet, slightly grainy aroma with some red fruit and grassy hops. Flavour began with a touch of caramel before floral hops took over, leading to a decent, bitter finish. Ungstrup	3 Blackawton Exhibition Ale Cask at GBBF 2007. An amber beer with a rocky light orange head. The aroma is sweet malty and fruity, while the flavor is sweet malty with notes of fruit, as well as some flowers and hops and hints of bisquits. The finish is dry and bitter. Ungstrup	3 Blackawton Summer Daze Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2007. A golden beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with quite strong notes of fruit - especially citrus - among them grapefruit. The flavor is sweet malty - a bit light on the malt, combined with strong notes of fruit and lesser notes of esters, leading to a slightly bitter finish. Saturday, January 19, 2008

Rastacouere	3.1 Blackawton Exhibition Ale Light amber ale with a solid white cover that lasts. Quite toasty, grainy and bready nose focused on malts and hiding a certain spiciness. Surprisingly not very flavourful in mouth. The aroma’s hints are met again, but little else happens and the dry sandy finish cleans up everything only too swiftly. Wednesday, October 3, 2007
fonefan	2.6 Blackawton Exhibition Ale Cask @ GBBF 2007, London. Clear light orange color with a small, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate hoppy, flowers, fruit, light malty, toasted. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light metalic. Tuesday, September 11, 2007
DruncanVeasey	3.1 Blackawton Headstrong Bottled. Pours clear gold to murky amber, depending how much yeast wriggles into the glass. Creamy suds and mouthfeel. Juicy hop fruitiness in the snout. Hoppily fruity and bitter, with an almost guezey fustiness. Earthy and sourish. Feels homemade, but pretty good. Monday, September 3, 2007
oh6gdx	3.1 Blackawton Exhibition Ale Cask@GBBF2007. Deep golden colour, mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is cookies, wood, something caramellishlike and a bit of grass. Flavour is really wooden sourness along with bitterness and saltwater. Some minor bready and mouldy hints in the flavour also. Monday, September 3, 2007

StueyD	3.4 Blackawton 44 Special A reddish, copper coloured beer with a weak white head. Zesty, citrus fruit nose, a little like that is a Sauvignon Blanc, with a hint of hop. The taste is light, and dry, a little malty, then the zesty lemony, white wine flavour comes through to a crisp, citrusy finish. (Cask - The Ouse Amateur Sailing Club, King’s Lynn, Norfolk). imdownthepub	2.1 Blackawton West Country Gold Cask Conditioned at Banbury Beer Festival 06. Hazed Gold no head. A tremendous disapointment this one, racked on tuesday, unsaleable until Saturday and only then with a warning as it was still hazed. Thinly flavoured with a cidery note and a touch of farm in the nose. Tart finish, not very popular. Sunday, April 23, 2006

harrisoni	3.3 Blackawton Peninsula Cask gravity at Chambers Easter Festival, Folkestone. Copper/amber, thin cream/beige head. Muddy/earthy beer with bright citrus hops. Bit of rubber on the aroma.Typical bitter elemets of yeast hops and touch of juicy malt. Hoppy finish raises it above the norm Sunday, April 16, 2006
