Schlenkerla29	2.7 Grosch Fuhrmannstrunk Dunkel wie die Nacht mit einer beigefarbenen, sahnigen Schaumkrone, welche sich als nicht allzu stabil erweist, begibt sich der Grosch Fuhrmannstrunk ins Glas. Wieso eigentlich Fuhrmannstrunk? Alkohol am Steuer ist nicht statthaft, auf einem Pferdefuhrwerk hingegen schon? Die Duftprobe fällt nicht über die Maßen intensiv aus, lediglich etwas dunkles Malz ist auszumachen. Es eröffnet leicht sauerteigartig mit sanfter Bitterschokolade, eine dünne Fruchtigkeit à la Himbeere schließt sich ihr an. Die kaum wahrnehmbare Hopfung geht weitestgehend unter. Bei durchschnittlicher Rezenz ist dieses für ein Märzen zu schlank geratene Bier gut süffig. Im Abgang setzt sich eine feine Malzbittere vor eine allzu schwach auftretende Hopfenherbe. Für ein mit 13,4° Stammwürze ausgestattetes Märzen erweist es sich als zu zahm. Zudem vermisse ich durchgängig die reizvollen Aromen von Röstmalz, überdies ist es zu sparsam gehopft. Schlenkerla29	3.2 Grosch Prinz Albert Pils Prinz Albert von Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha, Prinzgemahl der britischen Königin Victoria, wurde bei diesem Bier als Namenspatron bemüht, wodurch sich das Brauhaus Gosch verständlicherweise einer gewissen Erwartungshaltung seitens seiner Kundschaft ausgesetzt sieht. Die optischen Erwartungen werden durch die goldgelbe Farbe und die kompakte, sehr beständige Schaumkrone vollauf erfüllt. Der Duft zeigt sich leicht würzig und glänzt mit mild krautig-zitronigem Hopfen. Eingangs stoße ich ebenfalls auf milde, krautige und zitronige Hopfeneinflüsse, wobei die zitrusfruchtige Note auf Dauer ein wenig strapaziös wirkt. Trotz deutlicher Malzsüße sehe ich den Hopfen dennoch in der Pole Position. Für ein Pils, selbst für ein süddeutsches, ist es mir fast etwas zu füllig. Die milde Rezenz lässt es gut laufen. Der krautig-hopfenherbe Abgang, welchem ein feinbitterer Nachtrunk auf dem Fuße folgt, beschließt es. Ein respektables Franken-Pils, welches nicht zu schwach gehopft auftritt, obwohl die Hopfenaromen ein wenig zu wünschen übrig lassen. Saturday, March 25, 2023
Schlenkerla29	2.7 Grosch Bock Bernsteinfarben und mit einer traumhaft sahnigen Schaumkrone wird der Grosch Bock bei mir vorstellig. Ein fabelhafter Auftritt! Bereits im Duft kommt der volle, malzaromatische Charakter mit Karamellnoten sehr gut zur Geltung. In der Nase finden tiefes Malz, Zuckerrübensirup und Rosinen zueinander. Süßmalzig steigt er auch ein, der cremige Körper bietet das volle Bockbier-Programm mit toastigem Malz und beträchtlicher Karamellsüße. Der volle Körper trägt das erwähnte samtig-cremige Mundgefühl weiter, lässt jedoch traurigerweise keinen Ansatz von Komplexität erkennen. So gibt es praktisch keinen Gegenpol zur allgegenwärtigen malzigen Glückseligkeit, was auf Dauer doch etwas langweilig wirkt. Ein malzschwerer, viel zu blass gehopfter und allzu runder Bock, der mit hauchfeiner nussiger Malzbittere und sirupartiger Süße sein Ende findet. Etwas unspannend! Saturday, January 28, 2023

Anklänge an Ahornsirup; schön gerstig. Milder rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang feine ätherisch-herbale Herbe. - Sehr schönes, satt malziges und wirklich fein gehopftes Märzen. Richtig gut. (12.1.2021.) Moravius	2.6 Grosch Bock "Grosch Bock", Flasche von Hopfen & Malz im Wedding. - Goldbraun, klar. - In der Nase breiteres, fein karamelliges Malz, Zuckersirup, dezente herbale Herbe und eine schwach faulig-süße Note. - Antrunk fett aber nicht tief hellmalzig und sehr süß mit Karamelbonbon, Zuckersirup, milder Zitronenlimonade und gerade noch ausreichender herbaler Hopfengrundierung, um die Süße nicht dominieren zu lassen. Mild rezent, fast schal, vollmundig. Im Abgang aromatisch neutrale, sehr milde herbale Herbe. - Arg süßer Bock, dem es an Tiefgang und Wucht mangelt. Keiner der besseren. (15.12.2020.) Zart säuerlich, mit leichter ranzig-muffiger Note. Mild rezent, stark mineralisch, hart im Mund, dabei etwas wäßrig. Im Abgang vermisse ich Hopfenaromen, es gibt nur stumpfe Malzbittere und etwas krautige Herbe. - Recht hartes, wenig gefälliges aber kerniges Dunkel, malzbitter und kaum süß. 3fourths	2.9 Grosch Zwickl From draft at the brewery in Roedental. Lightly hazed honey gold with a lasting white head. Quiet nose shows of pale malt as crackers, toast and faint honey, with minimal hop aroma of floral lemon. Lightly lactic / doughy with fizzy carbonation. Light body, lightly sweet with medium bitterness and acidity. Hops come across as somewhat minty / green leading to a finish that resembles mouthwash. Pretty simple all around. 3fourths	2.7 Grosch Luthertrunk Draft at the brewery in Roedental. Opaque amber with a fine off-white head. Doughy yeast aroma, malt is bready, lightly caramelized, hops are lightly spicy and smell and taste of orange gelatin with mild off-notes of latex. Medium-light body, sweet with mild bitterness and medium+ acidity. Bit husky and showing subtle over-caramelization in a short finish.
