stevoj	4.2 Uinta Pro Line Series 2024: My Inner Ian 16oz can from Brewer's Haven. Hazy orange golden pour with very thick white fluffy head. Fruity aroma, citrus, stone fruit . Taste steps on the gas with a nice fruity punch, apricots, mango and orange with a nice dose of Sabro making it shine. Flaked oats for creamy body put it over the top. Tuesday, April 16, 2024

Pours hazy golden with a one finger off-white head with decent retention. Taste has a moderate to high level of bitterness with just a hint of malt sweetness. Nice aggressively bitter IPA. FlacoAlto	3.7 Uinta Crooked Line Labyrinth Black Ale Bottle date 06/11/2010; sampled December 2023. A steady, soft pour produces maybe three tiny bubbles. The beer is a rich black color that is quite opaque when held up to the light. The aroma smells of toasted oak, nutty roasted whole grain, hints of burnt molasses, charred smokey wood, a bright sweetness that might be licorice, hints of dark roast coffee, and lots of toasted dark grain bread aromatics. As the beer warms up, and if you really did get for it, there is definitely a licorice note to the aroma. This maybe has a hint of carbonation left to it, and the body is quite rich, pallet coating and viscous, but not nearly as heavy as one might expect in the beer of this size. Toasted, astringent, Woody oak flavors provide a spiciness to the beer that lingers from the beginning through to the long finish, the tannins especially linger on the palate after a sip. Burnt, dark malt notes add a touch of sweetness to the beer up front, hints of molasses, roasted caramel, and burnt malt. There is a subtle licorice flavor to this beer, it gets masked by all the roast character, but definitely accentuates the perceived sweetness, and provides just a touch of anise / licorice spice character. This is a very mellow beer considering me ABV, quite smooth without any heat whatsoever. Despite losing almost all of its carbonation, I am still enjoying this beer a fair amount, it seems big enough to stand up to this loss of effervescence, and the oxidation character is really quite mellow here still. Taste begins with the cinnamon roll flavors before the wheat wine kicks in, malty, leathery, dry. Alcohol heat follows with a glowing warmth in the chest. Not as sweet as I would have guessed. Bitterbill	2.8 Uinta Christmas Cheer From Brewvana 12 days of Christmas. Canned October 18th 2022. Deep amber colour, clear, great head of foam, retention and lacing. The smell is sweetish malt, light bitterness, fruity from the juniper berries, which is not something that I look forward to tasting. Yep, starts off nicely malty with light sweetness, a small hop bite and then the juniper berries bring a strange unwelcome flavour that I don't like one bit. It's especially noticeable in the finish.
