Dansberg 16000 Super Premium Beer
A 650 ml bottle located on the shelves at the Total Wine in Cedar Park, TX late last year, being opened on a nice spring afternoon. Normally this style doesn't rate a glass for a tasting but this time I have my Karbach pint shaker ready and waiting. The appearance is gold-yellow, clear and a here-and-disappearing cover of pure white foam. It has your basic beer smell, grain mostly with some hops. Time for a good drink. Corn, malt, a bit of toffee sweetness, paper and dry biscuit. Not getting any complaints from me, I have had many worse in the style than this.

650 mL bottle served in a shaker- poured a transparent golden brown color, zero head, light carbonation. Aroma of hops and bootleg hooch. Hits the mouth with a light body, malt is kind of there but middle has small crescent, finish has more hops on the backend than front. Very odd.

330 ml. bottle with a pull tab from Total Wine - San Antonio. Pours a cloudy dark gold color with a white head and fair retention. Almost no lacing. Sour malt aroma. Thankfully the taste isn't sour. Weird undefined artificial flavor with a warming finish. Light, watery body. Low carbonation. No bitterness. Doesn't really taste like beer. Tick.

Dirty gold pour, scant head. Nose is wet grain, hops struggling to be heard. Middle is medium to light kilned grain, adjunt sweetness, wet cardboard, little herbal, so.e ABV. Finish is surprisingly thin for the ABV, blah.

Dansberg 16000 Super Premium Beer
650 mL bottle. Unclear, orange color, with a medium, frothy, off-white head. The nose is corn syrup, burnt sugar, damp hay, and rubber. Sweet and sticky, with an acrid bitterness. Fairly heavy, sticky, and a bit hot. This is not undrinkable, although the drain was looking pretty friendly. Rough and unpleasant.

Bottle. Slightly hazy pale golden-amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of grain, sweet cereal and a lot of corn. Sweet corn taste with a touch of booze. Medium bodied but sort of thin and somewhat dry. Not good, but drinkable.

Bottle. Odd aroma of gluten free grain malt, a little hint of citrus, dirty water, and something sharp and chemical. Lightly carbonated. Sweet, astringent and slightly boozy. Dirty copper color with a few bubbles. Ewwww. Total drain pour.

Dansberg 16000 Super Premium Beer
650 mL bottle served in a shaker- poured a lightly murky brown light orange color, very lively carbonation. Aroma of hard water and corn. Hits the mouth with a light body, corn is dominant in the taste but it works, a light sweet sensation in the middle, finish just drops off a cliff to nothingness. This actually isn’t bad- I’ve had worse things in my mouth!

Bottle. Pours with a milky visual and drinks with a silky feel similar to lactose-laden ales. This is very sweet, heaving toward a corn malt baseline. (#7786, 8/2020)

Dansberg 16000 Super Premium Beer
650 ml bottle (Batch 16, Mfg 04/18), all to myself on 10th March 2019. Obtained from a strange Indian/English Supermarket somewhere in Orange County, California. Drank at my daughters place while baby sitting. Slight haze to the golden body, short lasting white wisp for a head. Corn and malty nose, taste also held a corn and malty semi-sweetness, not much going on really (like most Indian Lagers I have tried so far). Front label claims it is "Expertly Brewed to International with Finest Quality Malt and Hops", one of us is obviously lying.

My Bottom Line:
Dustiness is met by acetaldehyde (green apples) and cheap honey (adjuncts, surely). Yuck.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the translucent golden.
-This might be drinkable, if you need to be polite at a host’s house.
-Druk 11000 is much better. A scary thought, I know.

Bottle.

22oz bottle - First, I have to admit that I did not drink this entire thing. It just didn’t keep me interested enough to consume the whole bottle. But what I did have, wasn’t horrible but reminded me of a pretty typical Euro strong lager. Very grainy, corny sweetness, smooth mouthfeel with no complexity and a clean finish...when cold. I imagine it’s pretty gnarly when warmed up, so why wait for something bad to happen when you know it’s going to happen? The one thing that was pretty bad about this beer...when I poured it into my glass....there was no head. Zero. Zip. Nada. There was carbonation on the palate, but in my glass? Looked like apple juice. Very weird.

Himalayan Blue Premium Lager
"Had a mini Indian beer taste-off between Blue Himalayan and Taj Mahal. Not expecting greatness from either commercially produced lager, but here I go anyway. Look-same light straw color while pouring. TM is typical macro lager. Can’t even say that for BH...slightly hazy...slightly. Even pouring down the middle produces little or no head. Aroma-both typical macro lager aroma, with a slight extra unpleasantness to the BH. Feel-BH is flat, and as the aroma and taste are not good either, the mouthfeel is horrible too. TM isn’t good, but has better carbonation and isn’t as repulsive. flavor-BH rivals the worst of the American macros...no way in hell i’m finishing this. TM is closer to average but still don’t want to finish. overall, Blue Himalayan is foul pee water, while Taj Mahal is somewhere between horrible and respectable, although a little closer to the former. No more Indian beer for me. I’ll be dumping 18 of the 22 oz of BH, and probably won’t quite finish the TM either."

Rated on 9-25-2009 at Fort Wayne, IN Gathering. This beer pours a small white head that mostly diminished, transparent yellow body, virtually no lacing, and no visible carbonation. The Aroma is malt and corn. The Taste mimics the Aroma and has a dry finish. The Palate is tingly and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this beer is nothing to get excited about as the flavor is very bad and I do not recommend trying this beer.

650 ml bottle pours a hazy golden color with tiny dishwater head. Aroma is that of corn, wheat, and cardboard. Taste is slightly bitter with a metallic aftertaste. Body is thin and almost flat. I did not have any spicy food in need of a fire extinguisher when I tried this, and can think of no other reason to try this one again.

What a label! Big pound plus bottle. Looks like hazy light pale lager, almost wheatish. Smell reminds me of old bottled lager too. Has an old lager beer flavor, aged, yah know? Low alky makes this tolerable. Somewhat weird, I’d like to try this fresh. I think taj mahal may have been better. This stuff even has trouble hiding 4.5%, tastes more like 6. I had some aged bedgy bottled lager that tasted like this.

A: The beer pours a clear golden orange color with a short lived white head. S: Definitely get some butter up front with a bit of grass, straw, and metal. Light malt character with plenty of corn and a bit of table sugar. Maybe a touch of honey and overcooked grain. T: Tastes very much like candy corn. Very sweet and sugary, a strong corn flavor as well and a slight buttery creaminess. Hints of straw and grass as well, with almost no bitterness. M: Light to medium in body with a medium level of carbonation. O: Really a weird flavor. Certainly not all that good, but the candy corn flavor was sort of interesting.

650ml bottle. It struggles for form a head when it pours, it just immediately fizzles away. The body is a hazy gold. The smell is almost nothing, but a hint of corn flakes, a pinch of honey, and white bread. The taste is like sour bread flavored water, low carbonation. 650 mL bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with not much of a head. Aroma of sweet, syrupy malts with a bit of toastiness. The taste is grassy hops, toasted malts with a bit of a sugary finish and some apple-like fruit notes. Light and a little on the watery side. Much like your typical Indian restaurant fare. 5/11/10.

650 ml bottle of pure liquid nastiness. Poured about as attractive as a glas full of urine. Aroma of rotting cereal grains, corn and white grapes. Watery palate yet finishes slightly smokey yet this isn’t a rauchbier. Flavor is just plain disgusting. I did manage to knock off yet another country but at what price, I feel like I sold my soul over this one.

Had this at Mayura Indian Resto in Milwaukee last night with dinner. Poured with small, soap bubble, white head and no lace. Color was gold. Aroma was most notably smokey along with some malt and a little hop. Flavor was about the same. Body was on the heavy side for the style and little carbonation. Finish was what you’d expect from the above description. Couldn’t finish the bottle of 500 ml. Friend I shared it with who used to be a high end beer distributor, agreed. Not a session.

Bottle from Beer Geek. Pours a light hazy gold with a decent fluffy white head. Aromas are sort of citric and biscuit. Near medium body with full carbonation. There’s a metallic tang, but it’s not all that obtrusive. I’m getting something like fruit/citrus over light malt. Finishes rather clean. Lightlly bitter - like a touch of lemon peel. IMHO it’s better than many pale lagers.

From the bottle shared by thedm and hotstuff. I had never heard of it before, and for good reason. Was it really worth the carbon foot print to send this over here? Big bubbled fizzy white head over a pale golden color. Initial skunky aroma faded into something corny. Some buscuity malts with mild corn and some lemon zest. Stale, metallic finish. Really?

This bottled brew from a rating party poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a transparent strongly carbonated light yellow-orange colored body and an excellent lacing. The sy. The semi-thick mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The typical lagerish flavor contained notes of malt and soft hops. An OK brew just nothing special.
