86 /100 Apostelken (Bar) 1 APOSTELSTRAAT Visited this place with some friends... found it by accident but did not regret it at all. They even have a little beer museum in house 🤣
A good choice of beers is available, brasserie food available, nice place to have a get together with friends along with delicious beers and bites |
86 /100 Den Babbelaer (Restaurant) KLAPSTRAAT 3 8 november 2019 voor het eerst hier. Sfeer is authentiek. Aanbod zeker in orde. |
100 /100 Apostelken (Bar) 1 APOSTELSTRAAT Very good food. Tons of beers and great atmosphere. |
8 /100 Ondineke (Bar) MOLENSTRAAT 47 Very disappointed. We arrived to find the place completely empty (7pm on a Saturday night). We sat down outside and looked at the uninspiring beer list before making our excuses and leaving. |
80 /100 De Steeg (Bar) SINT-JORISSTRAAT 6 - 9300 AALST In a side road off small square, I thought this was quite a find in this small pleasant town. The welcome and service was excellent and the beer list was pretty good (although I an no expert). I wasn’t looking for food, so cant comment but spent a pleasant couple of hours drinking and talking to the manager. I would certainly revisit if I found myself in Aalst again. |
88 /100 De Steeg (Bar) SINT-JORISSTRAAT 6 - 9300 AALST Had this place recommended by the staff at the Heeren Van Liedekerke in Denderleeuw, where we spent last Saturday afternoon.
The owner (and his staff) were very friendly and helpful with all of our obscure)ish) beer needs. 20 75cl bottles for sharing (and coctails if you want ’em).
The food looked ok, but we didn’t eat there. Evidently a ’youngsters’ pub, but the ’youngsters’ there were perfectly fine and enjoying their brews. Decor a bit US diner(ish) - the staff disappear into the bonnet of a less than life-sized 50’s car bonnet when they go upstairs to find more beer!
A good tick in a city that seems to have seen better times. |
88 /100 Den Babbelaer (Restaurant) KLAPSTRAAT 3 Little gem of a pub hidden away down a sidestreet 15 min walk from the station. Very good beer menu.Along with Apostelken, Aalst’s essential visit. |
88 /100 Apostelken (Bar) 1 APOSTELSTRAAT Excellent cafe with a great beer list and good service. Very popular with the locals. Highly recommended. |
90 /100 Apostelken (Bar) 1 APOSTELSTRAAT Nice place. Big beer list. Food: limited choice, but what they have is good. Very good service. |
78 /100 Apostelken (Bar) 1 APOSTELSTRAAT Nice Bar/Restaurant between Brussels and Ghent. The ambiance was really cool, I liked it so much, same for the service and the prices. Bottle list is pretty standard for Belgian places, same for the taps! Worth a visit if you around for a snack and a beer! |
88 /100 Apostelken (Bar) 1 APOSTELSTRAAT Nice and cozy bar with a big beer bottle selection and nice food. The stuff is polite and knowledgeable about beer. On the way from Bruxelles to Ghent it is a necessary stop if you want to try some beers and eat some snacks. Great toast and coquets, on tap we had boon kriek and a sour saison, really interesting! |
72 /100 Apostelken (Bar) 1 APOSTELSTRAAT Good food. A nice beer list |
34 /100 Ondineke (Bar) MOLENSTRAAT 47 Re-opened under new ownership as a simple and characterless studenty brown café. Possibly notable because the house beer remains the Ondineke Tripel from Glazen Toren, in 75cl bottles. |
86 /100 Apostelken (Bar) 1 APOSTELSTRAAT Driving from Brussels to Gent we decided to see if there was anything we could stop at on the way and stumble into this little gem. Immediately upon entering we saw the Orval Ambassador section displayed with pride. Cozy little old school bar. They have more than beer to include spirits of different sorts but beer you could say is their passion. The barkeeps had extensive knowledge and love beer as much as we did. Food is all fried snacks, but are delish! Prices are good too. Overall this is a must stop for anyone in the area. |
8 /100 Ondineke (Bar) MOLENSTRAAT 47 café is closed sinds june 2010 |
90 /100 Apostelken (Bar) 1 APOSTELSTRAAT best place in Belgium |
20 /100 Den Babbelaer (Restaurant) KLAPSTRAAT 3 bad service-to expensive |
82 /100 Ondineke (Bar) MOLENSTRAAT 47 Probably the best place in Aalst, which is a fairly interesting place. Good selection, good service, good prices. What else do you need? |
80 /100 Ondineke (Bar) MOLENSTRAAT 47 A locals bar where quite a few tourists also stops by I’m told. I can understand why. A good selection, personal service that makes you feel special, and the room itself makes this the best place in Aalst as long as my experience goes. I won’t say it’s world class, but if you’re in Aalst, it’s definitely the place to go. |
92 /100 Apostelken (Bar) 1 APOSTELSTRAAT Visit end april 2011.
Wow what a place. For trappist lovers: the place to be !
Friendly people.
Good choice for other beers.
Recommended cafe.
|
84 /100 Apostelken (Bar) 1 APOSTELSTRAAT bottles of de cam, drie font vintage, schaarbeekse kriek, girardin, hanssens, mort subite, oud beersel, others. reasonable prices. some older bottles available. 2 floors. second floor is a ring around the top of the room. lots of old beer memorabilia. shrine to orval. quiet chatter amongst the locals of the town. barley served with the beer as a snack. unique, quaint, beer heaven old belgium ambiance. neat place. |
58 /100 Den Babbelaer (Restaurant) KLAPSTRAAT 3 A quite nice place, but far from impressive. We got some nice beer and decent food, but the service was a bit slow. Maybe that was because we were sitting outside, but we weren’t the only people outside, so I guess the waiter just had a bad day... Anyway, I wouldn’t mind going back if ever in Aalst again. |
84 /100 Ondineke (Bar) MOLENSTRAAT 47 Best beer place in Aalst as far as I my experience goes. A busy brown café with all kind of guest at Saturday night. Still not to difficult to get a seat as people tends to come and goes all the time. Great beer selection and friendly service. The staff now their stuff and are proud to serve a few goodies from a stock somewhere else than the regular place. Highly recommendable. |
56 /100 Den Babbelaer (Restaurant) KLAPSTRAAT 3 Quite busy on a Saturday night in the beginning of May, so we where only sitting outdoor. Decent beer list, nothing extraordinary but a selection of De Glazen Toren. Some of the beers where out of stock, but we managed to get something interesting together with a nice plate of tapas. Decent food, moderate price level, friendly service but annoying slow service. |
66 /100 Den Babbelaer (Restaurant) KLAPSTRAAT 3 Situated off the beaten track, but still less than five minutes walk from the city centre of Grote Markt. Crowded, busy and rather noisy on a Saturday eve. Visited by a wide range of people. We had a delicate cheese plate with our beers. Traditional Belgian beer list that runs to about 40 bottles together with a few on taps. Nice outdoor seating and cosy wooden interior (visited, 30.04.2011). |
68 /100 Ondineke (Bar) MOLENSTRAAT 47 Obvious the place for enjoying a wide selection of beers in Aalst. A friendly café with locals mixed with tourists. Some of their beers are kept in a fridge outside of the bar and you pick them by yourself. The bartender will be happy to guide you when you ask for their very special kind of beers. By carefully opening a dry hopped bottle he showed us how the hop flower jumped out of the bottle neck without spoiling the content. Well done! (Visited, 30.04.2011). |
98 /100 Ondineke (Bar) MOLENSTRAAT 47 Great pub near the centre and station of Aalst. Great selection of beers, every month a different beer of the month. Good service by a patron who knows his beers and will always help you choose the right stuff! |
100 /100 Ondineke (Bar) MOLENSTRAAT 47 Fantastic beers served by someone that really knows his business!
I tasted serveral, including the mythical Westvleteren, some Ode Geuse, and others.
Service in French, English or Flemmish, not neccessarily in that order...
Definately a must on the Belgian beer tour! |
