COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - Winter.
Winter Shield provides some internal warming! The three classic English hops used in the beer and the slightly higher alcohol content will take you back to the old Burton Ales. The strength of the beer is perfectly balanced by the traditional hops giving a beer brimming with flavour and character to chase away those winter blues.

A light malt aroma. Nothing really interesting about this beer. I wouldn’t look to buy again.

Cask by handpump, shared half pint at NWAF. Clear dark amber coloured body. Dotted spots to the glass. Earthy malts and a spicy touch to the nose. Taste of marmalade with caramel malts beneath. Slightly roasted bitter ending. Soft in the mouth. Fits the winter season alright (Manchester, 25.01.2013).

Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Good balanced aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium balanced flavor with a good solid balanced finish of moderate duration. Above average beer for style.

Bottle to snifter. Looks decent; a transparent copper with white lacing. Smells decent too; mildly malty. Tastes good; a nice hop profile with good balance. Mouthfeel is average. Better than I expected!
