UPDATED: JUL 25, 2020 Dark beer with some mahogany hues around the edges. Sticky beige head. Roast grain nose. This is a nice dry stout with some burnt toast, dark roasted grains and a long dry finish.

On tap at the brewery pours black with tan head. Aroma is mainly malt and coffee. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor is dark roasted malts, with a touch of coffee and finishes dry. This is an easy drinking stout and I’m glad this one makes it tap often.

On tap at GLBC. Darkest brown/black pour with a huge creamy tan head. Dry malt and coffee aroma that is faint at first (friggin’ nitros!), but comes out more as the beer warms. Creamy malty flavor up front with a bitter coffee finish. Flavor is also more pronounced as the beer warms. Pretty darn good for a nitro stout.

On draft at the brewpub. To me, this is about as fine an example of a dry stout as one can expect. I believe this is my first 5 for appearance. It was just so sumptuous looking - opaque, thick, oily, with a perfect inch of cafe au lait head sitting contentedly on top of the brew. Strong but not overpowering roasted barley in the nose. And the taste lasted forever, with the roasts coming in initially but rounded by a nicely complex malt flavor, thick and chewy oatmeal, and a superbly creamy mouthfeel. Truly enjoyable.

black, thin fine beige head, dry roasted malt aroma, creamy oily oatmeal body, lots of roasted flavor, well tempered bitterness considering the amount of roasted malts,

On tap at the brewery. Always worth the trip. The pour is a deep black with a nearly white frothy head. Looks much like a Guiness. The aroma is of deep roasted malts with a hint of sweat coffee. The flavor is not at all like a Guiness, the malts are stronger and the flavor of coffee is fairly pronounced though out the tasting. The finish is quickly, but the malt leaves a bit of an aftertaste. Very good stout. Very good.

on Tap @ GLBC, black beer, looks like guinness, tastes a hell of a lot better... nice smooth mouthfeel perfect for a dry stout, roasty flavors that was great. Really enjoyed trying this one

Black pour, great almond nitro head. Roasted malts in the aroma. Flavors are roasted malts all the way, chocolate, some coffee, almost smokiness to it, maybe some oats in the silky mouthfeel. Dry but not too dry because of the great mouthfeel form the nitro and even lightly hopped. This beer was perfect for it’s style.

Served with nitrogen. Black with a tan head. Aroma and flavor both have a roast coffee presence, along with dark chocolate. Dry finish.
