From notes, tasted at Great American Beer Festival 2017. Will add more notes if I get to try this again. This was a very nice surprise.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2017 From a can at the RBSG 2017 in Boise. In my tasting glass dark brown being almost black. Nose of roasted chocolate malts with some vanilla and bourbon. Full body. Creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is chocolate malt with the vanilla and woody bourbon. Finishes dry and with a hint of smoke. Excellent.

750 ml. bottle from the brewery, shared & poured to snifters displaying a black/brown hue, with some ruby highlighting, a presentable layer of brownish tan froth, and foamy spots of lacing. The nose was roasted, cocoa, dark caramel sweetness, touches of barrel tannins, and vanilla. The taste was similar, medium+ bodied, with low carbonation, syrupy texture, some earthy & roasted bitterness, booze and warmth. Decent, par for the course Imperial Stout.

Never had the base but this was a slightly boozy chocolate vanilla roasted sipper of a stout. Pleasant thought and easily the best I’ve had from them.

Can to taster. Looks good; a mostly opaque dull black with beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of dark malt, dark chocolate, vanilla, oak, and mild roast. Tastes like it smells with a bit of toasted coconut as well. Mouthfeel is medium full-bodied and fairly bitter. Enjoyable, and a nice bonus that it’s available in cans.

A creamy head, lots of strong roasted and coffee black malt notes, hints of bourbon strong alcohol flavor
