Bottle. Dark chocolate malt, ash, and hay aroma. Black with giant brown head. Moderately sweet coffee, dark chocolate malt, lightly sour milk, and mildly bitter ash and hay flavor. Good body. Kind of nice to have a straight imperial stout.

Bottle: Pours black with a tall, dark tan head. Chocolate, coffee roast aroma. Taste is sweet and roasty, dark coffee and chocolate malts. Very creamy and rich....just a hint of soy sauce and vanilla. Easy and smooth. Really enjoyable.

2014 Bottle: Pitch black coloured body with a large, soapy four centimetre tall rich brown head. Aroma of roast, soy sauce, light nuts, cream, milk and a bit of alcohol - relatively pungent along with some smoke and peat. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich roasty flavour at first with some licorice, anise, soy sauce, mushrooms and a bit of grain noticeable, all with a bit of sweetness from honey and nuts. Aftertaste shows some oak and dry, complex flavours while also showing some pungency and nuts. Overall, a decent Imperial Stout at best, that didn’t seem to really be any smoother or muted over the years - this has some funky soy saucey flavours along with a big pungent finish that is still thin on the body and complexities. Not really worth trying unless you can get a cheap bottle or don’t mind to waste money. I sampled this twleve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 17-May-2015 for US$2,40 sampled at home in Washington on 05-May-2017. Bottled On: 11-November-2014 // Purchased On: 17-May-2015 // Sampled on: 05-May-2017.

Black body with a huge, rather creamy, tan and long-lived head that laces the glass well. Strong aroma of roasted malt an coffee, and some strange, sourish and rather unfresh notes of very overripe fruits. Strong flavour of dark roasted malt and coffee, with a background of overripe to fermented and rotten sweet fruits. Moderate to light sweet taste, light sourness and moderate bitterness. Medium body, dry texture and fairly lively carbonation. I assume this one is lightly infected.
[35.5 cl bottle, enjoyed 3 years after bottling, from Vinmonopolet Storo, Oslo]

Svart med høyt lys brunt skum. Lukter salmiakk lakris, trevirke, kaffe, anis, krydder og mørk sjokolade. Middels fylde. Kakaopulver, kaffe, lakris, karamell, mørk bitter sjokolade. Lakris og mørk sjokolade dominerer.
