brokensail (21480) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 3, 2022
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2022 Bottle @ Home. Pours a very dark brown with an off-white head. Huge coconut, vanilla, bourbon, and dark chocolate on the nose. A lot of brown sugar, toffee, and molasses, too. Flavor is pretty good, but the nose is perhaps just a touch better. Sugary sweetness with a lot of vanilla, brown sugar, and chocolate. Still plenty of coconut. A nice bite of bourbon, wood, and dark fruit. Body could be a little better, but otherwise a pretty nice beer.

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2019 Black pour with a thin off white head and spots of lacing .... aroma of coconut, cocoa, sugar and roasted malts with dark fruits and molasses .... taste is of sugar mostly, coconut, roasted malts, some dry oak, coffee flavors lacking, bourbon flavor is light, dark fruits and molasses .... finish is sweet and of lingering sugar, coconut, oak and coffee .... roasted malts .... shame it’s too damn sugary but I gets the Vietnamese angle ..... decent and the abv is hidden well

22 oz. bottle. Pours black with some ruby tints. The head is fleeting and fizzy. The aroma is vanilla beans, oak, black cherries, milk chocolate, anise, and lovely booze. Very sweet, with a sharp, boozy bite. Heavy body, with a slick, sharp mouthfeel. This is a decadent and delicious porter. So good...
