Arbitrage411 (349) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 5, 2024
UPDATED: MAY 5, 2024 Cloudy yellow in a recommended Tulip. White tiny bubbles foamy head. Sweet malt nose. Serious depth of flavors, the texture sensation of remnant yeast, and a noticeable banana taste in mind. Effervescence similar to world class Belgian brews. Heady ABV warming takes you to “the zone”. Sticky lacing as the drink lowers in the glass. Top shelf creation. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! to quote a 60’s movie. Semi dry finish.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2024 Clear gold with a thick white head. Smells sweet and bready. Flavour is sweet and bready, with a good whack of bourbon both sweet and warming, a little citrus through it. Warm, sweet, a little spicy. Very tasty stuff.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2024 Draft, flight pour, at The Bar on 22, 3/12/24. (4) Shocked I've never rated this. Clear good, white head. Bourbon, bread, grains, and spice. Banana / clove notes. Very boozy. Okay.

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2023 355ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Aug 23. Thanks Simon for this. Pours a misty yellow, small amount of white foam atop. Nice sweet shades, harmonious blend with very subtle bourbon, although in a blind tasting I would've said more of a white wine barrel influence.. a touch sugary on the finish, gently sweet Belgian yeast.. exquisite sipper, but tastes half its strength and expected more Jim Beam to come through.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2023 Bottle from the Shaw of PTC! Big thanks chuck. Nose is mild yeast forward. Slight haze on pale with a nice big head that does not fade. Initial impression is that its not as civilized as most belgians but then I look at the label and WHAT! It's 10.2 %! (says 11 on this site) Big taste bud wow and big alky impact fer sure. Now, I'm not sure if it really tastes like 10.2, maybe more like 8 or so. So, I guess its kind of civilized for what it is? Lots of yeast effects on the taste buds in this one. Yea, most of the real beldgies have a muted yeast character although you know its there its not in yer face; but this stuff is right up front saying 'hey, there is lots of yeast in here' hehehheheheh. Does lack many of the iff ale effects but that yeast and the volatile feel of this is not real pleasant. But hey, I think I'm catching a little buzz as I near the end of the session. I'm starting to forget about anything negative in the brew. There you have it.
