COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Summer Ale is a modern rendition of the "Light Dinner Ales" brewed in England throughout the 1800's right up until the 1940's. They were also called "luncheon ales" or even "family ales", because they were refreshing and flavorful without being too heavy. We brew our Brooklyn Summer Ale from premium English barley malt, which gives this light-bodied golden beer a fresh bready flavor. German and American hops lend a light, crisp bitterness and a citrus/floral aroma resulting in a beer with a very sunny disposition. FOOD PAIRING Excellent with salads, seafood, quiches, and lightly spicy dishes. It's also great at a brunch. SPECS Style: English Style Light Dinner Ale Malts: Two Row British Malts Hops: German Perle and American Cascade, Fuggle, and Amarillo Alcohol: 4.5% by volume Original Gravity: 11 Plato

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2024 Old Untappd checkin, June 16, 2016. Pours a slightly cloudy medium gold with a moderate bubbly white head. Citrusy and sweet up front with just a bit of a hop bitterness in the finish. Refreshing summer beer.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2023 Pours a clear gold with a medium head and some minor lacing. Aroma and taste is malt and caramel. Not too strong but enough to have some character. Still falls a little flat, but not horrible.

Bitterbill (3241) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - JUN 29, 2023
UPDATED: JUN 29, 2023 From City Brew Tours, no dating. It pours a clear gold with a finger of foam, and very good lacing. The smell is grainy, sweet, hint of hops. The taste is grainy, sweet malt that just doesn't come across as fresh, very little hop presence. Decent mouthfeel. No dating and I am pretty sure that this is not very fresh.

Arbitrage411 (350) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 26, 2022
UPDATED: SEP 26, 2022 Pale yellow hazy with a sudsy white head and a healthy flowerlike nose. The head has a determined duration. Taste is medium dry, none too strong in the bite, with a modest flavor of hops. Easy down the hatch, having much more nuance than a mass market brew. Slow warming and a light finish.

KevinReddirt (1818) - Midland, Texas, USA - JUL 9, 2022
UPDATED: JUL 10, 2022 The palate is broad at Midland Beer Garden, I chose this beer first on a 100+ July afternoon, summer ale indeed. A 16 oz tap inside of a dimpled beer glass, I’m happy because it is served up very cold. Yellow going into gold in color with a thin to moderate head of white foam. The drink is crisp lemon, malt, crackers and water. A touch of sweetness and an appropriate bitterness for the style. The right brew at the right time.
