UPDATED: MAR 7, 2024 Pours transparent brown with a thick tan head. Aroma produces roast malt, spices, a little sweetness. Flavor furnishes sweet roast malt, woody, spice and bitter hops. Texture adds nice smooth body and perky fizz. Get your wee heavy Scotch on.

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2024 11.ounce bottle at Winking Lizard in Copley, Ohio. Smell sweet malt. Clear brown in color with off white head. Taste sweet malt. Smooth and medium bodied. Malt aftertaste. Very unique and nice. Cheers!

UPDATED: JAN 14, 2024 Complex Wee Heavy, sweet chocolate malts, full bodied and 8% ABV well shrouded in flavor. Picked up a case of McEwan’s @ Holiday Beverage, NE Philly on blowout special.

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2023 Clear chestnut brown with stable beige head. Aroma: sweet dark bread, cake with prunes with rum, dark malt. Taste: sweet balanced with light acidity and low spicy bitterness. Flavour: some alcohol and some flowery notesm Good.

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2023 Bottled. Very deep brown, close to black colour with a mediumsized living foamy head. Aroma is quite sweet malts, toast, some mild nutty tones along with mild wooden and floral notes. Flavour is nicely toasted, nutty and mild floral notes along with a quite big sweetness, which grows as the bottle warms up.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2023 Bottle. I've had this one many times but apparently I never got around to rating it here. Everything I love about a good wee heavy: stone fruit, cocoa, malty, mild and sweet, and The ABV is dangerously hidden. Sláinte.

UPDATED: APR 21, 2023 Fles, vroeger (j70) toen het nog onder auspiciën van McEwan's gebrouwen werd door Bass voor de Belgische markt (7,2%). Verdween van de markt maar keerde als het ware terug. Bitter, vol van smaak.

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2022 Classic Scotch ale, full of caramel, toasted bread, cocoa, nuts, and apple, with a gentle bitterness on the back end and a hint of roast. Unexpectedly good. Nice.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2022 Dark, mahogany color. Big , beige head. Toffees, mineral, caramel malt in the aroma. Balanced malty taste with “ mineral” bitterness at the end.

UPDATED: NOV 18, 2021 There is a big, persistent head on the pour. I tasted compote and plum. it is pretty rich, but not over the top. A well-balanced brew.
