ChainGangGuy (5803) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - MAR 23, 2022UPDATED: MAR 23, 2022 Appearance: Pours a hazy, amber-tan body with nearly an inch of off-white foam. Sparse lacing on the way down.
Smell: A smidge grainy with a veneer of classic deep crystal malt amidst toasted bread with supporting hop notes smelling of pithy citrus and leafy herbaceousness.
Taste: Toasted breadcrusts, a shmeer of crystal malt sweetness with a twinge of fruitiness with a thin backing of crunchy grains. A pop of tangy grapefruit, some citrus florals and resiny pine with a punchy amount of bitterness bolstered by a bit of alcoholic heat ultimately lending to a warming, bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with a bit of extra added richness about it. Medium-light carbonation.
Overall: Crystal malts? Any perceptible bitter whatsoever? What is this, 2007?!

cheap (8884) - Land of Taxes, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 4, 2020UPDATED: OCT 4, 2020 Bottle, courtesy of my wife's boss. Thin creamy head. The bottle says its an american bitter and there aint no ABV listed on the bottle. Smell is a little cloying sweet. Decent co2 but the initial beef of this is that its quite annoying on the uptake, Very rude, alarmingly bitter is a kind phrase for it. Yes, I guess with its volatile alky attitude, makes it certainly a strong ale. After every pour you get a big giant creamy head that wants to flood over the top. Taste is such a beer nastiness; like whew. Difficult and straight up rude like medicine but ironically not in a hoppy IPA kind of way, hops are suppressed. Its almost all just straight up rude ass bitter astringent. Only consolation is the dull numbing feeling I get once I finish the bottle, makes me almost forget how dastardly this brew really was. Such an insult to the palate. Not impressed.
ozzy70 (4110) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - SEP 23, 2019UPDATED: SEP 23, 2019 Bottle. Pour was dark amber with a lasting foamy off white head. Aroma of caramel, pine/spruce, muddled fruit and melon. Taste was mild bittersweet, hops, fruit, melons, dry finish.
phranq (250) - - AUG 3, 2017Nice aroma of spice and caramel malt from a clear copper pour. Taste is hearty spice and sweet malt giving way to a sweet boozy finish.
JDBaker11058 (3946) - Sandy Spring, Maryland, USA - JUL 26, 2017 appearance: clear orange copper, half a finger of creamy light tan head with excellent cling. aroma: caramel, marmalade, candied orange peel, graham cracker, toast, grapefruit, hint of pine and cardboard. taste: piney orange marmalade up front, then caramel and cardboard-y malts, some grapefruit and tonic water notes. finish: chewy, slightly syrupy with a bit of heat forming in the back of my throat; bitterness rises and holds the end. notes: Not a bad beer. Not my favorite style, and it didn’t quite work for me. Bottle from the Beer of the Month Club.
jb (4681) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUL 19, 2017Seemed quite solid, towards an amber or a red IPA, Booze well hidden. Thanks for this Andy!
