Aroma: dried dark fruits, fruitcake, sweet cherries, caramel. Flavor: the above with some sweetened malt vinegar and black pepper. Mouthfeel: full-bodied, somewhat oily, with some prickly carbonation. Definitely not a world-class Belgian-style quad, but for the price ($7.99 Canadian), a value. Monday, March 11, 2024

Metalchopz	3.8 Belgh Brasse La Déesse des Chutes Lightly hazed by tiny particles, unfiltered, a big warm-white head that stay quite a long time and leaving a bunch of sticky lacing. Fresh mint-cilantro, herbal aromas with the spices and wheat base. Hints of honey. Some orange notes comes out in the taste, zest and mild juices. Good dryness in the finish with grassiness lingering. Quite a nice, refreshing Witbier with the IPA hop edge. Friday, November 17, 2023
Metalchopz	3.5 Belgh Brasse La P'tite Bittt Session Ale Golden colour with some tiny particles floating through it, a frothy-creamy white cap, good stay and some nice foamy-soapy lacing. Citrus aromas with lemon zest, some of its sourness, honey and cilantro leaves. The taste shows decent grassiness, but with the straw malts and honey notes, not as bitter. More good spices blending things and the finish is fairly dry. Quite a nice Session ale with some low alcohol notes, but a little more punch with the 4% ABV. Thursday, November 16, 2023

Grassy, herbal aromas over the caramel malts. The taste continues with some minty notes, refreshing things. A fairly dry finish. A pretty good IPA all-around for such a cheap price. HighSparkDiesel	2.8 Belgh Brasse La Déesse des Chutes From a convenience store in the neighbourhood, stockpile from this year's summer beer campaign, a large can. Aroma: fruity; fresh and inviting. Appearance: semi-opaque light amber, lots of tiny bubbles rising to the surface, a finger of off-white scum. Palate: rather light-bodied and sticky, average carbonation, predominantly astringent finish. Taste: heavily bitter with some sweet notes, not particularly well-balanced. Astringent, with no notable wheat-like characteristics besides the appearance. There is a hit of grapefruit but it's understated, quite refreshing but ultimately very ordinary. Metalchopz	3.2 Belgh Brasse La Gardienne Des Bois Lightly hazed, golden colour with nice carbonation, an amber hue, a warm cap that is on the creamy-side, stays quite long, and lacing is good with foamy clouds all over. The smell is kind of off, especially for a NEIPA. Yes, citrus is present, but with caramel sweetness and then, grass that is trying to fight it off. The taste is a touch better, with the caramel base hidden a little better behind the grassiness and orange zest. The mouthfeel is wet, slightly silky with some decent dryness in the end. Nothing horrendous, but a little off. A nice-looking, juicyish, hazy IPA with a little too much caramel malts. Saturday, September 16, 2023

Aroma of citrusy hops notes with some juicy floral undertones but not as dominant as I was expecting. Taste is also a mix of citrusy hops notes with some floral hops undertones with residual sugar notes but flavors are more muddled than I was expecting. Body is pretty full with good carbonation. Arômes: simple et linéaire. Céréale (bonne base malté), miel, soupçon herbacé (Saaz) très subtil. Saveurs: notes similaires aux arômes. Amertume imperceptible en finale. Yeasty, lightly sour nose over the sweetness of Belgian Ales. The taste has this weird, kind of sourness, but not as infected. Maybe like sourdough, as bready. Just odd yeast or something. UM02	3.6 Belgh Brasse Morbach Kölsch Bottle. Grain in the foretaste with a slightly bitter hop finish. Not a very nuanced beer but true to the kolsch style. Big cereal, grain aromas with hints of hops. Malty flavours with the graininess and some slightly stronger hops here. Makes the beer on the dry side. Not a bad Kölsch all-around. The head is big, frothy, kind of creamy, very long lasting and leaving some thin creamy lacing. Big cereal grain aromas of malts with a touch of caramel. Hops come out when glass is swirled. They are also more present in the taste. Grassiness, decent bitterness and building dryness in the finish.
