RudiGR	4.3 Vliegende Paard Brouwers Préaris grand cru Jamaican rum BA 2022 Besteld op 18-07-2023 bij Poseidon beers en toegekomen per koerier op 26-07-2023. Thuis mijn smaakpapillen ermee verblijd op 24-02-2024. Préaris grand cru Jamaican rum BA 2022 wordt gebrouwen door ‘De Vliegende Paard brouwers’, opgericht door Andy Dewilde nadat zijn interesse was gewekt doordat zijn vader ook af en toe eens brouwde. De naam komt simpelweg van de wijk in Oedelem waar hij woont. Hij volgde dan een brouwopleiding bij Panta Rhei in Gent. En al heel vlug namen ze deel aan een Brouwland biercompetitie die ze wonnen met hun Quadrupel. PRÉARIS GRAND CRU JAMAICAN RUM BA 2022 is een helder donker-koper kleurig bier dat veel beige moussig schuim aanmaakt. Dat blijft sterk aan je glaswand kleven maar zakt vlug in elkaar tot er nog een fijn dun laagje overblijft. Op de bodem van het flesje zie je in het midden nog wat gistdepot. Er borrelen een normale hoeveelheid fijne CO2 pareltjes naar omhoog. HET AROMA: Zoetig, beetje kandij, beetje karamel, rijpe banaan, dadel, pruim, mout, hout en een alcohol tint. DE SMAAK: Zoet, wat kandij en karamel, wat geroosterd, karamel-moutig, hout en een alcohol tint. HET MONDGEVOEL: Medium body met een romige textuur en een medium prikkelend koolzuurgas. DE NASMAAK: Zeer licht geroosterd, hout, een alcoholtint, een lichte droge tint, bittere kersenvelletjes die een lichte wrangheid meebrengen. Het zoete vloeit als eerste lang uit waarna het hopbittere het overneemt. HET TOTAALGEVOEL: Een complex bier. HET VERDICT: Een zachte quadrupple zonder te verbazen, mijn vrouw lust het ook en dat heeft een gunstig effect op de punten. De laatste cm uit de fles vertroebeld het bier. De rum-vaten zijn misschien wel verantwoordelijk voor de wrange bittere kersen pelletjes maar ik had een grotere invloed van de vaten verwacht. theprof	3.3 Préaris Blond (Saison) Poured cloudy hazy golden body with full foam white top. Hoppy nose with some yeast and herbal spice. Medium sweet to bitter with a hint of citrus but more yeasty spice, especially in the finish. Light to medium bodied, grainy texture, average carbonation for a bottled beer, and a spice finish. sinte	3.3 Préaris Blond (Saison) Bottle 0.33L. Slightly hazy amber body with a large, frothy, white head, mostly lasting with some nice lacing. Light-to-moderate malty (caramel) and light hoppy (orange) aroma with notes of apricot and light apple. Light-to-moderate sweet flavour with a light acidic note; long-lasting finish with sweet notes. corkyrory66	4.5 Préaris Grand Cru 2021 (Laphroaig Barrel aged) Quadruple de 10 % abv, mûrie en fût de Laphroaig et destinée à fêter mon 6600 ème rating .. Je n'ai pas choisi facile puisque je suis loin d'être un fan de l'affreux. Mais d'abord le visuel a le don de me charmer, avec des reflets superbes de tendance acajou. Ensuite, la présence tourbée n'est pas excessive, j'en suis ravi .. La finale est même carrément goûteuse, avec une belle texture. CONCLUSION : décanter l'affreux et il devient laphro .. (music pairing : Lucifer priest, album Unexpected presence .. bien dit, et puis on peut attendre bientôt un Laphroaig priest .. pourquoi pas ..) Friday, February 16, 2024

corkyrory66	4.9 Préaris Grand Cru 2021 (Double Barrel Aged - Cognac & White Wine) Quadruple de 10 % abv, en version double barrel aged. Nous aurons droit à un mariage cognac – vin blanc. Visuel superbe marron clair aux reflets noisette grillée. Entame avec de jolies notes de sauvignon. Longueur qui fait intervenir le cognac dans la danse. Finale où le cognac danse vraiment élégamment. CONCLUSION : un double barrel superbement assemblé (music pairing : Bevis Frond, album Little Eden .. bien dit ) Wednesday, January 24, 2024
ReuvenSmienk	3.5 Préaris IPA - No Hops No Glory Troebel amberkleurig bier met een 2-vingerdikke crèmekleurige schuimkraag van gemiddelde tot fijne structuur. Ik ruik een fruitige citrus geur (grapefruit, citroen). De smaak is fruitig maar het fruit wordt vrij snel overstemd door de hopbitterheid. corkyrory66	4.8 Prearis Grand Cru 2019 Irish Whiskey BA Pour ma 3400 ème bière belge, j'ai enfourché mon cheval volant pour retrouver une quadruple sous ses sabots .. Et comme les irlandais aiment le cheval, j'ai trouvé une quadruple mûrie en irish whiskey .. quelle belle idée ! N'oublions pas que le whiskey irlandais est de triple distillation .. Visuel presque d'un irish coffee .. tiens donc .. un revenant ! Entame aux très jolies notes caramélisé. Longueur qui assimile le tout avec une douceur propre au whiskey de par là-bas, c'est-à-dire au-delà du deuxième channel !! CONCLUSION : belle réussite et recherchée .. KevinReddirt	4 Préaris Grand Cru 2018 (Laphroaig Barrel aged) I'm sampling from a 37.5 cl bottle obtained from Belgian Happiness last year. Some mighty cool weather tonight, time to have a quad. The glass is a Straffe Hendrik large tulip, I open the bottle before pouring. I see a shiny, dark mahogany body followed by a long lasting skim of khaki tan foam. The nose is inviting, ripe fruit, some peat and yeast. And the drink is likewise good. I get plenty of the whisky, dates, raisins, malt, earth, grain and a bit of hard candy. There is an unexpected bitterness finishing. My second barrel-aged Prearis Grand Cru in two weeks, just to say. I think I prefer this one, more challenging. edward78	3.9 Préaris Quadrupel Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a very dark brown with a reddish hue and a medium sized foamy beige head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, fruit cake and caramel with hints of chocolate and nuts. Taste has caramel, dry dark fruits, brown bread and chocolate, some woody tones, vanilla, nougat and also some warming alcohol. Nice lingering warmth on the finish. Alcohol well hidden for the high abv. Medium body with average carbonation. Very nice winter time beer to sip and savour. Monday, October 16, 2023
KevinReddirt	4 Préaris Grand Cru 2020 (Rum BA) I have a 37.5 cl bottle that came from a friendly Belgian retailer very early in the year, just now getting it out to try. For this event I am using the Trappistes Rochefort glass, my favorite for quadrupels. The arrival is a cola-colored liquid with a creamy head of sepia foam that departs promptly. The scent is full of ripe, dark fruit, some grain and a bit of booziness. The taste is good, but a distance from the best in the style. Figs, baked bread, a hint of caramel, raisins and straw. Aromas of caramel, toasty bread, tea and a hint of nuts. Taste is bitter with more notes of caramel, toasty bread and tea with some herbal notes, peppery spice and a hint of nuts. Quadruple de 10 % donc, mûrie en fût de rhum jamaïcain. Visuel toujours aussi alléchant sur un roux profond, reflets marron. Entame superbe avec notes de toffee et figues confites. Longueur d'une complexité remarquable. CONCLUSION : très grande quad .. et très beau vol .. merci le cheval ! (music pairing : Helloween en live à Madrid en 2023 au Wizing center il y a 3 jours .. ça va aussi bien que d'aller en Jamaïque … ) Tuesday, September 5, 2023

Cette bière avait déjà rencontré le cognac en 2012 et 2013, et s'en était merveilleusement accommodée .. Visuel acajou profond. Entame remarquable de densité et d'ampleur. Longueur qui perfectionne les nuances, avec une grande complexité. CONCLUSION : très grande quad de haute voltige pour fêter le royaume et les 10 ans de Philippe. Une pensée spéciale aussi pour les 30 ans du départ de Baudouin (music pairing : Formula 400, album Divination .. un très joli mot en compagnie du cognac, et une musique ample comme la Prearis ) Friday, July 21, 2023

Appearance- interesting label, but generic bottle cap. Clear orange-amber in color, high in carbonation. From - pint Taster - malt, weak herbal tones, weak hops, weak bitterness, some gasoline in the back and faint alcohol tones. Interesting, I guess its tea-infused so I am getting that. Taste is again toasted grains, hay, floral and a grassy bitterness on the dry finish. Medium body with fairly low carbonation. Not a typical Belgian Blond style beer but more like a German Pilsner. Visuel marron intense, impeccable selon les bonnes habitudes du Vlieg .. Entame très riche et d'emblée sur un haut niveau alcoolique. Longueur qui blende correctement le genièvre et le sherry .. CONCLUSION : grande version de cette quad barrel (music pairing : Black stone cherry, album Between the devil and the deep blue sea .. exactement les impressions que me laissent cette bière, même si je connais beaucoup moins bien le deep blue sea qu'un ami qui passe son temps outr'australie .. mais on fait ce qu'on veut ici-bas !) Green label in Préaris’ usual design with their logo with battling Horses in gold. Pours unclear golden yellow with a big white head. Stable. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam obscuring the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing. Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor of ripe berries mingling with a tart floral scent. Blueberry and strawberry. Tart gooseberries. Soft carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture. Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed and balanced by a medium strong tart bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingers for a bit. Finish is dry. Well balanced and refreshing Saison with a tart dry bite. Saturday, April 29, 2023

corkyrory66	4.5 Préaris Grand Cru 2015 (Bourbon BA: Maker's Mark) Quadruple de 10 % abv, dont le niveau ebu de 45 m'étonne un peu pour une bière mûrie en fût de bourbon !! D'autant que, comme sa consœur au Jack Daniels, cette version de la Prearis a tendance à être "imbibée" assez fortement .. Longueur avec notes de caramel et de vanille. Finale très douce et ample. CONCLUSION : je ne suis pas un vrai fan du bourbon, mais tout se passe très bien ici avec le Maker's. (music pairing : Dopesmoker, album Sleep … du solide pour amateurs de bourbonnade ..) corkyrory66	4.2 Préaris Grand Cru 2014 (Peated Whiskey BA - Ardbeg) Quadruple de 10 % abv, mûrie en fût d'Ardbeg. Un des symboles d'Islay .. et grosse tourbe en vue !! De façon amusante, la fumée va donner à la quad de base quelques nuances intéressantes, allant jusqu'à la douceur .. Finale assez paradoxale .. CONCLUSION : Ardbeg n'est pas toujours une brute épaisse, mais il faut pour cela qu'il fasse connaissance avec une Préaris .. et qui plus est grand cul .. pardon grand cru .. Tuesday, April 11, 2023
