Originally posted by TheAlum The way those games ended up lopsided you would think that as well. Iowa>NW>Stanford rule should apply, but I’m sure they are giving them the first game of the year benefit of the doubt. |
The only lopsided games Iowa has had are North Texas (bottom 5 FBS team) and Northwestern. They’re also hurt by the perception of their schedule. |
If those rules applied shouldn’t Memphis and Florida be in the top 8 since they both beat Ole Miss who beat Bama? |

And yes, the transitive approach to ranking is not valid, as we’ve seen this year and many other times. |
Pitt win keeps looking better too. |

Originally posted by TheAlum That’s actually a pretty good article. We’ve had a few great years, but sustaining our success is not easy. Kevin Smith was the first Junior to leave UCF early. In the last two years, we’ve had 3 others along with a large senior class last year. It hurts us. Combine that with the effects of our NCAA sanctions, which are really being felt now, a good amount of recruiting busts, injuries, and overall youth, and you get what we have now. We’ve had a lot of bad stuff happen, and we aren’t a good team. But, our geography and size will get us back to where we need to be. Maybe not winning Fiesta Bowls, but we will be a leader in the conference for a while. |

Originally posted by GodOfThunder I definitely agree it was a good article. It seemed like UCF was poised to push the other Florida secondary tier schools down. Recruiting has been laughable though. With UCF’s current crash.. who knows who will (if anyone) reach up and grab that brass ring. |
