it’s helpful that it’s split.

that’s the key right there, totally agree. speaking as someone who just built two whole beer adventures around the English counties

You are a legend Gene. Well done Re seeking out places and the English counties, love reading your reviews and was so pleased you loved The Grove, if that place were in a bigger city and more people knew about it. It would probably be top place in the UK and in the Top Ten worldwide

I agree with you when things are split it offers you little challenges. Btw talking of which I have just recently reclaimed my Top 5 rater of Belgian places from you, I was there for a while but I think you knocked me out, I’m back now so over to you Gene to turf me back out :-)

I love a challenge! especially when I get to travl...

Norway (19), Sweeden (21), Denmark (5) and Finland (6),
Clear defined regions and reasonable amounts of breweies.
I do split them today in my spreadsheet for own statistical purpose.
I would not mind at all if that was allready handled in RB.

This is the list of premium members - not always admins, though! - willing to take a part of the work (if I am any good at reading between the lines) and having the expertise. They at least said that a splitting up of their/that country "can be done" or "it wouldn’t take very long".

Belgium = tderoeck or solidfunk

Denmark = HenrikSoegaard

Poland = Radek Kliber

Spain = Lowenbrau

Scotland = GlasgowTAD

(Japan = KansaiBeerLvrs ? )

I don’t what to impose this work onto these RB members, but if they have the time these guys are the perfect men in place.

(edit: Lowenbrau added to the list)

I’m definitely in and can help with wherever. Is this a call to get started? Where do I start?

The hard part of splitting is the coding.

If there is a need for help assigning breweries/places to geographical subdivisions I am sure your local admins will appreciate voluntary efforts

It could be a good idea to seperate Bornholm from Hovedstaden as there are quite a long trip from Copenhagen to Rønne! That makes 6 regions in Denmark.(and most raters had tried Svaneke of Beer Here)

What does "quite a long trip" mean in a Danish sense? Curious question from a Canadian here, hahahah.

It is also a question how to handle Svalbard in Norway. I beleve easiest is to handle Svalbard as a "Fylke" like the ordinary ones.
But on the other side the way new RB is now, I am sure there is more than me that strugles to find different info for statisitc interested in new layout.

Wait, if you already have a spreadsheet, that could save somebody a lot of work splitting them up...

It is not so much I have on that spreadsheet, I only have for the 4 northern countries, and only for the beer I have rated from there.
If that can be to any help getting started I will gladly help.
I would love to see Scandinavia on the RB "State" statistic in the same way as USA, Canada, England and Germany today.

It’s probably a start that would help whoever eventually does that, for sure. I’ll figure out what’s going on with this and beermail people
