What does "quite a long trip" mean in a Danish sense? Curious question from a Canadian here, hahahah.
While Denmark is tiny (relatively speaking), Rønne is on a separate island, on the other side of the southern tip of Sweden, so by car it would require driving through part of Sweden and then taking a ferry. So yeah, it would be a bit of a chore! Only about 100 miles apparently, but not as simple/quick as it would be on the mainland.

6 hours by boat directly, or 1 hour by car + 1,5 hours by boat through Sweden.

It could be a good idea to seperate Bornholm from Hovedstaden as there are quite a long trip from Copenhagen to Rønne! That makes 6 regions in Denmark.(and most raters had tried Svaneke of Beer Here)Originally posted by nilsas

If you want a really lot of new regions: Go Norway
Norway (19), Sweeden (21), Denmark (5) and Finland (6),
Clear defined regions and reasonable amounts of breweies.
I do split them today in my spreadsheet for own statistical purpose.
I would not mind at all if that was allready handled in RB.

To me it would make more sense to divide Sweden by provinces (25) rather than counties (21). While the counties have regional administration, the provinces are more commonly used when talking about the geography of Sweden. I can’t even name all the counties, but I could easily name and place all the provinces on a map.

And for me it takes additional 3,5 hours to get to Copenhagen. So 6-10 hours travelling. Depending on route. (The ferrry from sweden is very expensive). Originally posted by HenrikSoegaard

We decided against going via car/ferry. We flew to Bornholm from here in Copenhagen (25min flight) in early June this year, wonderful place and timing was perfect with the weather. Well worth the trip just to visit Penyllan http://www.ratebeer.com/p/penyllan-bar-kitchen/61963/ - must be one of the best views from a bar anywhere :)

I second that. I brought my mother in law for a beer yesterday. She loved it! Bornholm is finally getting on the beermap besides Svaneke! And it is a magnificient place. Originally posted by Desverger

That makes sense too. When I started dividing scandinavia What I found for Sweden was Lan, and for Denmark I found Regions. After your reply here I looked futher and found the Provinces you mentioned, and also more dividing for Denmar (8 instead of 5). That can be a way to go and can easlily be rebuild.

The question of using swedish län (official provinces/regions) or landskap (historical provinces /regions) is not that simple. I some parts, people associate themselves more with the historical regions, while this is not the case in northern Sweden and in Stockholm and Göteborg, the two latter cities being divided by two landskap.
I would definitely vote for län, partly because I live in Göteborg and have no feeling of being part of any landskap, and partly because I think official administrative regions are more proper.

As Norway is going through a process of merging our counties from 19 towards 10 or so, and most likely also move the borders, I see no use for a subdivision of Norway at the moment. The process have started, only two of them have decided to merge, but it will most likely take some years to finish the work. And it will be a rather manual job to decide which county a brewery or place belong to as the county is not part of our adresses and the zip codes don’t follow the counties.
The only thing I see that could make me vote for a subdivision of Norway in the admin forum is if all the splitting is actually going to happen soon and it will be years until the next time. And, it must be possible to merge counties in the db later on.
