imdownthepub	3.9 Fantôme Light Brown Spiritus Automn Draught at the TripelB Belgian Beer Cafe, Worcester. Hazy brown gold with white head. This proved to be a smooth, quite fruity beer from the start. Certainly Belgian yeasty notes with pear drops and a hint of esters. There is a light bitterness throughout. Very pleasant indeed. EvNa	4.2 Fantôme / Le Traquenard Esprit Valaisan Bottle. Color: Hazy golden, large frothy white head. Aroma: Fruity citrus, grape, spicy Saison yeast. Taste: Vinuous notes, fruity white grape and citrus with subtle lemon, combined with spicy and yeasty notes. Starting more fruity, finishing more spicy, dry and hopbitter. Pours a clear yellow with a bubbly white head that dissipates quickly to the edges and has a bit of visible carbonation. Aroma has some light funk and a bit of flora supported by a bit of tart fruits and a hint of grass backing. Flavor has light tart fruits, straw and hay with a bit of grass and flora in the finish. Dry, yeasty, burnt and peppery aroma.Taste - a bit veggie smoothie, increasing alcohol, and yeasty/funky/peppery. MicroGrog	3.4 Fantôme Lea’s Journey 7/06/19 Bottle from Tasty Beverage in Asheville a few months back. Shelf was overflowing with new Fantome stock. “Best before end of 2020”. Ommegang anniversary glass. Big lathered head leads to a clear copper brew. It actually takes quite a while to dissipate. Subsequent pours are somewhat hazy. Smells of leafy bitters, honey & very mild banana yeastiness. Nothing fancy. Taste is soft but numbing lingering bitterness, Cheerio turning into toasted/lightly charred maltiness. Missing that third note. Tastes like a less than super fresh ipa of unknown origin. Foamy, super-carbed(but not infected), dry. This is okay. Tuesday, March 5, 2024
MicroGrog	4.1 Fantôme Hiver (Winter) 07/06/19 Bottle from Tasty Beverage in Asheville a few months back. Best by 2020. Duvel tulip. Needed to make room in the fridge. First world problems. Copper, opaque brew. Long lingering head. Smells hoppy, cereal malt, herbs, black pepper. Taste is bitter & quite dry from the start. Big pepper presence. Lingering mellow aged hops from start to finish. Cereal malt. Herb-iness. Very easy. Not estery, spiced or yeasty in my opinion. Drank it too early? Tasty. Tuesday, March 5, 2024
ReuvenSmienk	3.6 Fantôme Blanche Mistig geelkleurig bier met een 2-vingerdikke witte schuimkraag van gemiddelde structuur. Ik ruik direct de geur van de brettanomice-gist. Op de achtergrond de lichte citrus geur. In de smaak is de gist ook volop aanwezig. Wel lekker, maar de overige eigenschappen van witbier raken een beetje ondergesneeuwd. Het mondgevoel bruist enorm. Garrold	4.2 Fantôme / Le Traquenard Esprit Valaisan Bottle. Old Shoe. Light hazed gold. Super bonkers rocky lasting white foam. Unmistakable spicy peppery Fantome yeast here. Leafy herbal and lemony. Then there’s the grape must. Is it must? Dunno. Loads of it though. Sweet white grape. Dried fruit. Big floral notes. Taste has a fleeting sweetness but overall it’s herbal floral and old citrus bitter. Slick and slightly oily offset by a brisk fine carbonation. Herbal peppery finish. Really nice to see Fantome popping up here after so long. Saturday, February 24, 2024

nimbleprop	2.7 Fantôme Chocolat - White Sampled at Max's Belgian Fest 2p24 is a clear yellow with some creamy white head. Nose has herbs and honey and light candy. Weird. Maybe some green peppercorn but otherwise no hint of chile and no hint of cocoa. Flavor is also quite herbal. Malt and dandelion and grass and savory herbs. Finishes dry. nimbleprop	2 Fantôme Chocolat - Dark Sample at Max's Belgian Fest 2024 is a murky caramel brown with some creamy beige head. Nose is weird, smoked meat, a little chile, very earthy. A little off putting. Smells a bit like a men's room. Flavor has malt and earth and the dried chile arrives, but there's something bizarre and distracting. Like compost or something. Spritzy finish. IL. as a 4 oz. serving to logoed tulip, showing a slightly hazed, orangey/gold color, with a sudsy layer of white froth to a persistent ring & film, and ribbons & spots of lacing. The nose was pleasant funk, grain, dried fruit, pulp & peel, and mild vinosity. Medium bodied, with decent effervescence, the taste was a different animal with a modest transfer of aroma notes, plus tartness & tanginess, distinct earthy, rindy, cellar-like, and woody bitterness, and a dry finish. tmoreau	3.7 Fantôme Garden Ghost On tap at the Afterthought Brewing taproom in Lombard, IL. as a 25-cl. serving to a logoed tulip, showing a fairly clear, orangey/gold color, with a sudsy layer of white froth to a persistent film, and foamy spots of lacing. The nose was yeasty/cheesy funk, dried fruit, citrusy grapefruit, lime peel, and a touch of clovey phenols. A little less than medium bodied, with okay carbonation, the taste was similar notes that were dominated by an extremely earthy, peppery, rind-like & dry bitterness. Worked for me. Aroma is, as usual with Fantôme, funky, with citrics, cloves, belgian yeast, fruits, earth, champagne,wheat, grapes. Medium body, rogh texture, good carbonation. Dry bitter finish. The smell is fruity..pear yeasty, peppery, spicy, some band aid aroma, funky. The taste is pears, white pepper, spicy, bitter, has some Brett, yeasty and dry as a bone. Malty, starting with sfruity grapefruit and spicy hints. Going to a long lasting spicy and quite strong red peppery finish with fruity notes. Yeasty, malty and candy sugar backbone. When warming up and standing longer, the fruity and spicy flavors merge more and more together, making it better balanced and somewhat less peppery. Moderate sweet and bitter.
