DeanF	3.9 Holz Osama Bier Laden Aroma of black malts and hop hints, all sweet and crisp. Has creamy foam with a good dark black body. Flavour is great balanced hoppy vegetable with malt notes, well defined flavours working well together. Mouthfeel is balanced with nice oily notes but nothing overbearing. Interesting taste, tiramisu notes, ending with a display of dry black maltiness. Nice roastines/toastiness, but a finish that’s less impressive. Overall, a very good but not great beer. MrHangover	3.6 Holzbräu Estas Out Bottle, brought back from Barcelona. Pours a very dark, blackish beer with a creamy beige head on top. Aroma is nice and malty, licorish and roast mostly. Touch of coffee in the background. Flavor is medium sweet, with a nice, bitter touch to it in the background. Could be some molasses or burnt sugars which are acting up in the background. Aftertaste is long, cloying and medium sweet. Very nice surprise this one. Thursday, February 13, 2014

Tant en aroma com en sabor s’aprecia que es tracta d’una fusió entre cervesa Pilsener i un concepte més llupolat, potser en sabor té un punt afruitat que no es detecta al nas. Aroma is rather strong on grainy malts, some citrus, mellow herbal notes and some earthiness. Flavour is rather rich with grainy malts, grapefruit, mango, herbs, strong grassy hops and weed. Medium bodied, a bit rough mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Lingering bitter, grainy and grassy finish. Nice and fresh US-style pils. Saturday, September 7, 2013
lusikka	3.5 Holzbräu Reservoir Hops 500 ml bottle (134 IBU), enjoyed at Barcelona. Pours a dark golden amber colour with a large foamy head. Aroma of grassy hops, gooseberry bush, passion fruit and biscuit. Flavour is rather musty with biscuity malts, flour, very bitter grassy hops, gooseberries and strong resiny notes as well. Very mild, almost unnoticeable tartness. Medium bodied and rather hard carbonation. Finishes very bitter, resiny and dry. Not at it’s best anymore I think, as this was bottled 8 months ago. lusikka	3.5 Holzbräu Tripa Dos 500 ml bottle, enjoyed at Barcelona. Pours a clear dark golden colour with a white foamy head. Aroma of fresh mango, papaya, grass and some earthiness. Flavour of really strong and dry grassy hops, citrus, licorice(!), pale malts, some weak caramel sweetness and straw. Medium bodied, dry mouthfeel and a bone dry, bitter and citrusy finish. Brota con un color negro como la noche, coronada por una espuma beige que genera una corona fina pero persistente. En nariz predominan los aromas de maltas torrefactas y quemadas sobre un subyacente tono resinoso. La entrada de sensación cremosa y malta torrefacta precede a un amargor emergente de pino y gentil resina, redondeado por un toque picante. Cuerpo intenso y carbonatación suave. Cacao amargo y notas de granos de café torrefactados en el intermedio. Final meloso dónde las maltas quedan bien equilibradas por una seca lupulización. Leves trazos de regaliz afloran en el prolongado retrogusto. Refrescante, deliciosa y de fácil asimilación, resulta perfecta para "ir de cañas con fundamento". Una American Stout que vale la pena. Full body. Soft carbonation. Bitter cocoa & notes of roasted coffee grains in the middle. Unctuous finish where malts are well balanced by dry hoppiness. En nariz matices de naranja madura y cítricos dulces, con aromas de malta moderadamente tostada. Al primer sorbo, suntuosa malta crystal y seco amargor. Cuerpo medio/intenso y carbonatación moderada/alta con textura densa. Las notas de zumo cítrico y seca astringencia, del intermedio, permanecen en el largo final con sutiles trazos de resina, Piel de naranja y pino en el prolongado retrogusto. Refrescante y de fácil asimilación. On-tap. 1/2 pt glass. Enjoyed on jul´13. Bright orange brass color. Foggy appearance. Off-white, creamy foam creates a quickly dissipated crown. Hints of ripe orange & sweet citric to the nose. As well as moderate toasted malts. Sunctuous crystal malt & dry bitterness at first sip Medium to full body. Moderate carbonation. Oily texture. Brota con color marrón muy oscuro y coronada por una espuma cremosa y persistente que crea una amplia capa. Anillos de encaje y copos permanecen en las paredes. Aromas de maltas torrefactas y matices de pan negro. Una entrada de intenso amargo apenas mitigada por las maltas. Cuerpo medio intenso y carbonatación moderada. Textura oleica, algo aguada. Seca astringencia de membrillo en el intermedio pero paladar cremoso. Final seco y de contundente amargo. Una refrescante y buena representante del Estilo American Porter. Finally I´ve found my notes !! On-tap. 1/2 pt glass. Enjoyed on dec´11 at I Fest´-hi in Vilanova (Barcelona). Pours very dark brown. Creamy froth creates a thick, creamy & lasting froth. Lacing rings & spots are left on sides. Roasted malt aromas & black bread hues. Pungent bitter upfront barely balanced by malts. Medium to full body. Moderate carbonation. Oily to watery texture.
