Sweet-ish, malty aroma with a starchy touch, whiffs of honey. Taste is sweet-ish malty with a minimally starchy touch, slightly bitter hoppy with a minimally papery touch. GarrettB	3.4 Wittmann Urhell November 10th, 2016 - Another entry from my Costco beer advent calendar, this Wittman Urhell is a nice, spritzy and lighter beer. It is nicely tuned of summer with its invigorating mouthfeel, the acidity and a hint of lime. It would cut nicely through the steam and heat of the summer and give a refreshing, citrus and lemony bite. But even in November it's nice, even if the beer feels like the most active part of a season that is trying to settle into a winter slumber. Friday, June 23, 2023

Schlenkerla29	2.7 Wittmann Urhell Goldgelb und mit sahniger Schaumkrone bittet das Wittmann Urhell nach feinsüßem Malz duftend zum Test, und lässt somit auf ein klassisches, unterhopftes Helles schließen. Der Einstieg erfolgt mild malzig-würzig und recht süß, jedoch nicht übersüßt. Allmählich durchdringendes feines Getreide verhilft ihm zu einer angedeuteten Kernigkeit, während sich der Hopfen bedeckt hält. Bei milder Rezenz ist es recht süffig. Der Abgang ist nur angedeutet herb mit feinen krautig-zitronigen Hopfennoten, ein milder, geradezu schwacher Nachtrunk schließt sich an. Ein bayerisches Helles ohne größere Ansprüche, das recht süß und sortenüblich schwach gehopft einzig der Befriedigung des Durstes dient. Friday, May 5, 2023

Gut rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang ruppige, leere Bittere, der man den Hopfenextrakt anmerkt. - Schwer melanoidinmalziger, derb gehopfter Doppelbock; trinkbar aber kein Genuß. ALLOVATE	3.4 Wittmann Urhell Number 6 for Kalea 12 days of Christmas. Into a tulip, chilled. Bright, medium gold with fine carbonation and a finger of tight, white foam atop. Light hint of fruit on the nose such as pear and green apple atop dusty, barnyard malts and pale toast. On the palate it has a light taint of chlorine soap to be its only negative. It is light with firm malt backbone and a toffee brittle bitterness and sweetness to the front before a peppery, lightly bitter finish. Moderate in carbonation. Crisp with a linger of sweet malt and grassy hops. Nothing spectacular here but a great session lager this would make. Nice!! Bright, deep gold with a thick, rocky head. Nice, crisp hop flavor, herbal, lemon. Bready malt, not very sweet, but rich. A touch of oxidation but not bad. Crisp, bitter finish.
