Barley Island Brass Knuckles Oatmeal Stout
This is a backlog rating from 2008 from a bottle, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time, work and/or family. Words to describe this beer are roasted malts, chocolate, oatmeal sweetness, slight lactic sour character, ok.

Barley Island Whose Ear Imperial Red
Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2017. Pours a clear amber red with a yellowish tan head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has notes of earthy grains and earthy bread with some straw backing. Flavor has a combination of grain and bread with a bit of hay and straw underlying.

Barley Island Single White Friar Ale
Versa un colore bruno-rossastro sfumato con una piccola testa beige. L'aroma era di malto caramellato con un po 'di dolce zucchero candi, frutti ricchi e una bella qualità tostata.

Barley Island Black Majic Java Stout
Draft to taster at Deer Creek. Looks good; a lightly translucent dark cola with thin dark beige head that steadily dissipates into thin bubbly lacing. Smells coffee-forward followed by a nice balance of dark malt, chocolate, and mild roast. Tastes like it smells, but less RICH and more bitter. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and fairly bitter. Solid, but smells better than it tastes.

Barley Island Brass Knuckles Oatmeal Stout
Draft to taster at Deer Creek. This batch is 5.9% abv and 27 IBUs. Looks good for the style; a translucent dark cola with beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of dark malt and dark chocolate alongside a mildly creamy oat presence. Tastes like it smells with a bit of roast as well. Mouthfeel is medium-light to medium-bodied and on the drier side for the style. Inoffensive, but underwhelming.

Barley Island Nickel Plate Apricot Wheat
A very tasty beer. It is a fruit beer, so by design it is a bit sweet for me. That being said, it is super smooth and drinkable. Recommended

Not sure what anyone else could ask of this beer. It fits the style to a T and is just magnificent. If you’re into wheat beers, this is a real keeper!!

Barley Island Nickel Plate Apricot Wheat
16 oz can @ Keg Liquors / Clarksville IN --- Nearly clear medium-dark amber, small ivory head, splotches of lace. Taste is light malt with peach, very low carbonation, and only a hint of bittering in the end. No date on the can, but the lack of fizz is a deal killer. Too bad - the flavor is agreeable.

Barley Island Nickel Plate Apricot Wheat
This draft brew from a beer festival poured a head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a uncarbonated yellow orange colored body. The mild aroma was wheat and apricot. The mild dry flavor contained notes of apricot and dough. An OK brew just nothing special.

Barley Island Damien
Pours slightly hazy amber with a very thick and persistent pale buff head. Aroma has fruity and yeasty tones, not strong but inviting. Flavor delivers more - apple, sweet malt, cloves, yeast, and a hint of caramel. Devilishly good! Texture has firm body and some good fizz, and leaves a fruity and slightly woody finish. One helluva good brew.

Barley Island Barfly IPA
12oz bottle, pulled from the cooler at Kahn’s on Keystone. Clear orange amber color. Thin off-white head. Leaves good ridges of lace. Caramel, biscuity bready malt sort of dominates the flavor, though it’s not awful sweet. Just moderate sweet (a bit too much sweet). Light bitterness. A little bit of piney hop heat on the end. Medium body. Kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Slick finish. Not a great IPA, as it is. Tastes too malty and sweet to be fresh. No date on the bottle though, so what can anyone do.

Barley Island Dirty Helen Brown Ale
12oz bottle, from Kahn’s. Clear red, sort of brown color. Decent short ropes of lace. Thin tan head. Nutty, some milk chocolate, dark fruit. Some carmael, and mild roast. Moderate sweet taste. Light bitter. Light earthy hop. Light body. Crisp, kind of light carbonation, more slick finish. Sort of easy-drinking and refreshing. A decent brown ale. Good to wash my lunch down with, but when enjoyed on it’s own there’s a slight roughness noticeable, a hint of metallic.
