GarrettB	3.9 Anacapa Highlander Scotch Ale October 7th, 2014 - Toasting a new Game of Thrones episode tonight with the Anacapa Scotch Ale! Heavy, dark, and dense, it sits lazily in the glass, lolling around like tides in slow motion. The aroma is heavy in the peat, glazed carrots, potatoes, wet earth and lots and lots of leather. It’s a beef stew served in a boot sort of aroma, and I love it. The flavor is sweeter than the aroma intimates, but with a heavy malty body here, too. The finish is sweet (as my significant other pointed out to me), with a sweet potato richness. The palate suffered a little bit under the lazy seal of a leaking growler, but there was obviously enough carbonation here to support the feast of flavors. Saturday, November 19, 2016

Theydon_Bois	3 Anacapa WTFuggle ESB Keg at the brewpub in Ventura, 01/05/14. Golden amber with a moderate off white swirl and edgework. Nose is caramel, light vanilla, toffee apple, biscuit. Taste comprises caramel, biscuit malt, light butterscotch, straw, faint hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so affair, not unpleasant just uspetacular - at least it wasn’t hopped to within an inch of its life like so many US takes on an ESB ! Brewer take note - not that you will likely ever read my ramblings, you won’t see many (if any) ESB’s in the UK above 5.5% ABV. Once you hit 6 you’re in English Strong territory! Sunday, May 25, 2014

Nose is roast malt, dark toffee, vanilla, light roast, chocolate. Taste comprises rich roast, dark chocolate, toffee fudge, vanilla essence. Medium body, light drying finale. Nose is bitter hops, sticky grapefruit, pine, orange pith, caramel malts. Taste is caramel malt forward, bitter orange, grapefruit, mango, light pine, sweet tones.
