4.1 Beer Valley Scottish Life 12oz in pint glass, can dated 12/23/23. Deep brown, near bright, with diminishing beige head. Warm, sweet, grainy/malty aroma, like supermarket wheat bread. Smooth, rich bread crust and graham cracker flavor, with just a smidge of molasses-type acridness. Finish is slightly on the sugary side but not viscous. Pretty satisfying drop, overall. 3.7 Beer Valley Eastern Oregon Export 12 oz can from a 6 pack purchased at the D-Street Grocery Outlet in Salem OR $8.99 Pours the traditional clear golden body with a rather large thick and frothy white head. Rather pleasing aroma of clean bready malts and floral hops. So simple yet so inviting. Taste the same and more on the malty side, but does not drown out the delicate hops. Well balanced indeed..some nice lemon zest hoppiness right at the end. Mouth feel is perfect for this beer..light yet nor watery. Really nice Helles style lager. No date on can and this could be a few months old but it is still very poundable. Sunday, December 26, 2021

4 Beer Valley Half Mast Drinking from a 22 oz bomber recently gifted to me...perhaps 4+ years old. A smooth malty brew that has hints (though at 7 abv, not as strong) of an English Barleywine. For that reason alone, it’s a very good experience. Good job Bear Valley! Monday, August 31, 2020

4.4 Beer Valley Black Flag Imperial Stout I avoid IPAs because they are to bitter and taste gross. This Stout is no different and I will never buy it again. Stout should be bold, rich, thick, malty....that's why a lot of us drink it, not for nasty ass hop flavors. Sunday, October 21, 2018

3.3 Beer Valley Black Flag Imperial Stout From Jun 2008 This pours a pitch black with a huge +2 finger head of tan foam. The smell has notes of roasted malt, coffee, and hoppy bitterness. The taste has big roasted malt, coffee, a touch of dark fruit, and a quite big hop profile. In fact, this is a *very* hoppy Imperial Stout. The roasted malt is big too. as is the coffee, but they are having a heck of a time competing with the hops. I think if the hops were calmed down to a lower presence, this would be quite the good example of the style but as is, the hops are just too much. Perhaps some aging would help but as this is my only bottle, I'll leave it to someone else to find out. ;^) It has a nice thickish mouthfeel and the carbonation is light and right for the style. And it *is* one heck of a looker in the glass. Lots of lacing and the head retention is awesome. I'm very glad I got to try it but I probably won't seek it out again. Wednesday, November 22, 2017
