12oz in pint glass, can dated 12/23/23. Deep brown, near bright, with diminishing beige head. Warm, sweet, grainy/malty aroma, like supermarket wheat bread. Smooth, rich bread crust and graham cracker flavor, with just a smidge of molasses-type acridness. Finish is slightly on the sugary side but not viscous. Pretty satisfying drop, overall.

Pour is dark, practically black, motor oil with a nice tan head. Aroma of sweet dark fruits, figs, plums, chocolate, with some floral notes as well. Taste is quite good. Sweet, roasted malts, dark chocolate. A pretty nice beer. I discovered this one at a Grocery Outlet in Eugene Oregon.

12 oz can from a six-pack from The Grocery Outlet. $7.99 Pours a pale gold/corn oil yellow coloured body, nice small yet persistent white head/lace. Yup smells like a macro cream ale. Floral hops and papery malts. Taste is very mellow. Smooth creamy and slightly hoppy. Nice and simple. To style. Mouth feel is fine. Lowish carbonation. Silky body. Goes down well. A nice old style Cream All. Similar to Genesee.

12 oz can from a 6 pack purchased at the D-Street Grocery Outlet in Salem OR $8.99 Pours the traditional clear golden body with a rather large thick and frothy white head. Rather pleasing aroma of clean bready malts and floral hops. So simple yet so inviting. Taste the same and more on the malty side, but does not drown out the delicate hops. Well balanced indeed..some nice lemon zest hoppiness right at the end. Mouth feel is perfect for this beer..light yet nor watery. Really nice Helles style lager. No date on can and this could be a few months old but it is still very poundable.

Beer Valley Jackalope Imperial Pumpkin Porter
Can. Unlike the initial RB posting, this one clocks in at 7.5%ABV. Colour… basically black with a thin tan head. Nose….brown sugar coated, baked pumpkin, roasted almonds, faint allspice. Palate…mildly effervescent, bitter, toasted pumpkin seeds, burnt pumpkin skin and light cinnamon. The finish is long, bitter and nutty.

Keg at Horse Brass, Portland, OR on 06/10/2010. Big piney and grassy nose. There’s a little toasted malt in there, balancing out the resinous hoppy bitterness.

Drinking from a 22 oz bomber recently gifted to me...perhaps 4+ years old. A smooth malty brew that has hints (though at 7 abv, not as strong) of an English Barleywine. For that reason alone, it’s a very good experience. Good job Bear Valley!

Pours a light amber with a small long lasting white head. The aroma is floral and citrus hops. The mouth feel is medium with medium carbonation, The flavor is a bit of sweetness, strong but in a good way floral hoppiness and a touch of maltiness, Nice balance. The finish goes to a piney bitterness that is clean and crisp. Not normally an IPA aficionado, but this one hits the spot! I'd drink this one again.

Poured on tap at Tap That Growlers in La Grande. Pours a blackish-brown brew with a small receding beige head. The aroma is brown sugar, milk chocolate, light coffee, alcohol, and a smattering of fruity hops. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and smooth with little carbonation. The flavor was the hops, toasty malt, chocolate notes, a little brown sugar and then he gradual insinuation of a nice bitter finish. Marvelous!

I avoid IPAs because they are to bitter and taste gross. This Stout is no different and I will never buy it again. Stout should be bold, rich, thick, malty....that's why a lot of us drink it, not for nasty ass hop flavors.

Poured from growler at Tap That La Grande a medium cola brown with small quickly dissipating head. The nose is very pleasant sweet brown sugar and light roast. The flavor is roasty malt and light sweet burnt sugar. The mouthfeel is a bit lighter than I would prefer and the flavor is fairly quicly receding. Nice warmth of alcohol and a very slight bitter finish. Very enjoyable.

Beer Valley Black Flag Imperial Stout
From Jun 2008 This pours a pitch black with a huge +2 finger head of tan foam. The smell has notes of roasted malt, coffee, and hoppy bitterness. The taste has big roasted malt, coffee, a touch of dark fruit, and a quite big hop profile. In fact, this is a *very* hoppy Imperial Stout. The roasted malt is big too. as is the coffee, but they are having a heck of a time competing with the hops. I think if the hops were calmed down to a lower presence, this would be quite the good example of the style but as is, the hops are just too much. Perhaps some aging would help but as this is my only bottle, I'll leave it to someone else to find out. ;^) It has a nice thickish mouthfeel and the carbonation is light and right for the style. And it *is* one heck of a looker in the glass. Lots of lacing and the head retention is awesome. I'm very glad I got to try it but I probably won't seek it out again.

Sampled at GTBF 2006: Jet black, creamy brown head. Fairly fruity nose. Big preserved fruit notes. Medium body, chewy thick (but not nasty like the slogan claims). Fruity aftertaste. Bought the awesome T-shirt.

Poured at the Eastern Oregon Beer Festival a light maber cloudy brew with a long lasting white head. The aroma was hoppy. The taste sweet, hoppy, citrus with a medium mouth feel. There was a hint of vanilla in the aftertaste plus the hops very crisp. An overarching hoppy beer with a lingering refreshing finish.
