A light lager and top-fermented ale are aged together in open vessels for eight weeks to give the beer its bold characteristic flavour, aroma and appearance.
The open vessel process is a traditional style of brewing lost in modern industrial brewing
Malt: Pilsner, Münchner, light caramel, dark caramel
Hops: Magnum, Perle, Aurora. Hallertauer Mittelfruh added during boil.
Aroma: Malty with elements of herbs and Seville orange
Flavour: Full bodied with medium bitterness and a long, sessionable finish
