Harvey's Lewes Castle (Bottle)

Brewer: Harvey's Brewery
Style: Brown Ale
Alcohol Content: 4.8%
Seasonal: Summer

Description:
Bottle Sweet palate with notes of coffee and liquorice. A traditional brown ale. Brewed with roasted malt and dark sugars, it has a sweet, malty palate and a bittersweet finish derived from Fuggle and Progress aroma hops. There is a lush fullness, offset by a hint of burnt sugars. A play on the name of another very famous brown ale [Newcastle Brown Ale], Lewes Castle is named after Lewes' own Norman fortress, built after William's conquest of 1066. Winner of 16 awards from 2015 to 2021.
