Pretty solid beer but the location and atmosphere are top notch. Very fun place to hang out.

Incredibly cool facility, except for the mucky pond. Cool cypress-based taproom, neat flint thresher on the wall - I'd never seen one of those before, hadda figure out what it was - hyper clean facility. Stopped in on a late winter day (full-on spring in Gainesville) and the weather was spectacular. Outdoor grassy area was nice, though adjacent to the aforementioned pond. If you're on I-75, and have an hour, this is a convenient and high quality stop. They had all their usual brews, and a few specials, maybe a total of 12 taps. They've got about 6 to 8 canned brews (including the Warmouth barleywine, I'm glad they had cans since I abstained from the tap version due to driving) and they do growlers. They sell halves. Beer quality is generally very solid, though I've grown to hate their honey cream ale. Scotch ale, browns are very good.

Must stop in Gainesville or for anyone passing by on I75 (within earshot of the interstate). This is a really beautiful brewery with a great outdoor space...very large lawn to enjoy plus a great patio. Inside it’s also big...and a beautiful space with kind of a swamp/everglades/nature theme. There is a large use of cypress wood...which is totally appropriate for the theme. It’s hard not to like the brewery. As for the beer...well it’s been around in Florida for quite a few years...so it’s well known. I can’t say all their regular beers are great or anything (some are very good)...but a number of their specials and one-off’s deserve greater attention. I would say if you are a casual craftbeer fan...you’ll like their beers...their regulars are designed to be sold all over the state in cans and on draft. On the other hand...true craftbeer fans...especially well traveled ones...may not be quite as impressed overall..."but" I’m pretty sure you will find some beers here you like. Visit here and nearby First Magnitude for a very satisfying Gainesville one-two punch.

Set in a weird location in the back of an industrial area, which also allows for spacious parking and plenty of outdoor space. The setting and building itself is pretty cool as there is a little pond with a big grassy area. Inside there is a lot of wood (I am guessing cypress?). Nice mix of modern and rustic. Their beers offered on tap provided for a satisfactory range of styles. Average prices, if not just a tad bit high. Most of the beers were pretty pedestrian but the Pumpkin Spice Latte was awesome. Certainly an enjoyable experience that I would recommend if in the Gainesville area.

This is actually a pretty cool brewery and tasting room. Set waaay back in a business park area, but it’s a nice, large, modern looking building. They actually do have a bit of a swamp outside with a little pond and stuff you can see from the tasting room. Maybe they get some gators out there…

Pretty clean and modern feel to the inside as well. They do a flight of their normal, year round offerings and it’s pretty cheap. Seasonals and special beers are available by full pour only, which is a little annoying. Beers were okay for the most part. I preferred their hoppy offerings.

They also have some games in the brewhouse (like corn hole), but it’s a little unpleasant in there since it’s not air conditioned. I understand why, but it’s already hot and humid since it’s a brewery…but then it’s even worse because it’s a brewery in Florida.

A positive experience all around and worth a visit if you’re in Gainesville. Just note that they don’t have TVs here, so if you wanted to drink some beers and watch a game or something, you can’t do it here. I noticed this when the entire place emptied about 30 minutes before a UF football game.

The Tap Room is definetly awesome and worth stopping by. A tasting room that opens out onto a patio facing a pond and the woods that gives a serene backdrop to enjoying your beer and the scenery. Can be very loud inside on a busy night but quite if you step outside to enjoy. The selection is on the small side featuring their beer and some other locals but worth going because a lot of what they have is not available in stores like maple bacon ipa. They also offer growlers in quart and half gallon size of your can bring in your own. Actually very reasonable prices on everything 4 dollars for most pints or fill a quart growler for 6 or half gallon for 11. There is no food but several nights a week they have a food truck outside so you can get something there. Awesome local gainesville brewery and worth supporting so they can keep growing.

Updating my review as I stopped into the new Swamp Head location. Very nice place, cool ambiance, great service, and awesome beer. This is DEFINITELY your best brewery stop if you’re in Gainesville and it’s away from downtown, which I thought was kind of dumpy. Stop in for sure!

Visited 03/11/15. Massive industrial space with a fairly large tap room located on the outskirts of Gainesville. Very easy access from I-75. Bright, airy space with a prominent long bar and an area for merchandise. I counted 12 house beers on tap in addition to one or two guests. Flights were available, but only for the year round stuff, which was sort of annoying. However, staff didn’t seem too bothered to give small tastes on request. I came with a less than positive impression of the brewery and left with some respect for the things they’re doing. The year round stuff was unexciting but well executed. The more experimental stuff was decent, too. Overall, worth checking out.

In a warehouse district behind an older neighborhood. Concrete floors, heavily constructed tables, lots of bar space. The selection is a good combination of Swamp Head brews and other brewers in Florida. Some flights are available. The bartenders were attentive and helpful. Overall, a good place to get local brews.

It’s located in a smaller industrial yard, right off of 75 in Gainesville. Smaller tasting room, but plenty of selection and bar wares for sale. Got myself a Swamp Head growler and a couple of mini-snifters. Neat space, and it looks like they are doing things right. Had a very pleasant visit. Good service, nice bartenders.
