North End English Pub

Not exactly a place to go for craft beers/ticks but I’ve visited a fair few times mainly because as a English expat living in NL it’s nice to go to an English style bar and eat some English style food. There’s a few beers on offer but nothing beyond usually a Leidsch and a few obvious UK beers. I quite like the place for what it is.

Visited on Saturday 26/09/15 around 5pm. Dated looking mock English pub, a kind of more tired/dated version of the Swedish Bishops arms chain but without the good beer selection ! There was a keg Fullers beer on offer plus we picked up a Leidsch tick. Add to that macro stuff. Atmopshere was friendly and the place was pretty busy. Really not worth bothering with, as I found Leiden to be on the whole in terms of a scooping mission ... 3 venues and 5 ticks ! Scroll past.

A well named place indeed. If it wasn’t for Dutch being spoken you could quite easily believe you were inside an English pub. The beer selection is pretty modest, at least we got a Leidsch tick. Not a bad place at all, but even more so than Lemmy’s bar, somewhere to stop by rather than head for.

Nice enough for an anglofil, never thought of this as real british anyway. Selection of beers was not the best, but Leidsh on tap is a pre. OK place for a beer.

None of the expats I know in Leiden go near the place. It’s not so much awful as a variation on the fake Irish pub idea.

10 taps. 2 Leidsch and the rest the most predictable tap beers. OK prices. Quite cozy. English pub, I guess that enough said.

A decent English bar with s good atmosphere. Some good English beers and usually a Leidsch beer on tap

Advertised as English pub and unlike most it actually feels like one. Typical selection of English beers, bitters, ciders, and British snacks as well. Large offering on whiskeys. Wasn’t too impressed with their dinner servings. The staff means well but sometimes it’s just too busy.

I was here on a Saturday-night, it was really crowded and a lot of people were watching the soccer-match in one corner of the pub. Not that much beers so I ordered a cider, but there seemed to be something wrong with it, very watery and no bite at all. Just a good pub, but I visited some better places

Ok It is a pub with a nice selection of english, dutch beers and wiskey’s. The decoration and terras are also nice However, much to expensive for me. Go to Lemmy’s beercafe for a better selection and a better price level (5 minute walk). And to England for a proper pint
