72 Well situated old school shop just by the brewery, with an interesting selection of the brewery's beers plus various bits of merch. They sell wine too. Growler fills available. |
70 Visited April 2022. It's a gorgeous old brewery when viewed from the other side of the river - although brewery tours are apparently yet to restart post-Covid. They've done a nice job of making their high street shop attractive too; a good balance of olde worlde and modern. It's a fair size, although half of it is given over to wine. It looked like Harveys' full bottle range was available - big stacks of their mainstream beers, with their stronger and more famous brews hidden on a small rack at the back. They also had some Trenchmore Farm cider and West Country meads available. The staff were really friendly and cheery; it felt very welcoming and quite atmospheric here. An essential visit if it's your first time in Lewes; make sure you pick up some of their superb imperial stout if you've not had it before. |
64 Slightly tourist shop fee, but a fancy one, not tat. Good selection of beers, including some interesting growler fills, and weird and wonderfuls bottles of stuff I'd never even heard of before. Including some 2.7% early morning starter juice. Right on the beaten path, definitely worth popping your head in. |
72 Visited on 11th September 2017. Lovely old shop down in the town centre. Really nice decor and the beers are well displayed. If you are a Harvey's Dan then you're in heaven here. Lots of beer from across their range at decent prices. Picked up a few bottles from here. Staff were friendly and helpful too. I'd return to boost my Harvey's ticks! |
70 Must visit in Lewes for all beer fans. Pretty much all Harvey’s bottle selection is available, the only one I could not buy was Elizabethian Ale as it was out of stock. Good ambience and very good service. |
70 This is the bottle shop for the infamous Harvey’s brewery in Lewes. The shop has a fairly up-market wine-shop feel to it. Inside they have a wide selection of Harvey’s Beers, merchandise, wines and spirits. Harvey’s beers come by the crate, individual bottle or growler fills. They have pretty much the entire bottled range and some seasonals on tap. Not exactly cheap, but this is a solid venue and a must visit in the area. |
68 Placed an online order here prior to Xmas 2012.
Good selection of Harveys beers, 20 or so, most in small rate friendly bottles.
Good prices and fair postage rates.
My case turned up well packed, promptly and damage free. |
66 The bottle shop and general store for Harvey’s Brewery, quite large and a little posh, thus pricey, although the beers are at a more reasonable price and you are left to browse at your own pace. The girl that served me was gorgeous. |
84 Don’t know how I missed adding this on the site way back in 2006 when I last was in Lewes. Strange coming up an over the hills to descend on the dale that is this is small town. Grass, as I remember, summed up the countryside. A few good pubs, not for food but just alehouses, seamen talking swank. And then this brewery, a scene of historic significance. Just has Industrial revolution painted upon it’s edifices. The interior a possible different story, but then one just has to taste and deeply respect their Imperial Stout to understand nothing much has changed or has to change at this brewery any time soon. On the main walk in Lewes, just off an embankment. A tiny shop with nothing but beer as far as I remember, and glassware which I managed to smuggle back to Oz. A must for traditional, 19th century ales. Recommended. |
64 A good merchandise and bottle shop with most of the Harvey’s range on offer, including some of the low alcohol ones. |
