60 Sunday 10th December 2023, Auntie Sue, Margie and I are in Lisbon for cruise stop (not long at all). This is the only place on my list that was actually open during our short stay, so I bit the bullet and we sat outside the place and I had a couple of new rates from bottles while they drank wine. Didn't go round the museum but did pop my head inside and the ground floor of the place is impressive. Prices a bit heavy for Portugal, but it is in a plush tourist area I suppose. So this is my only Lisbon review, hope to see more of the city and review some more places before too long. |
64 Huge touristy restaurant. No country ticks detected. 3 macro taps and some Portuguese craft in bottle. Beer prices are restaurant prices. Food (octopus) was decent and not too over priced considering the location. Ok place for food, but not really beery destination. |
58 Lcated in the much visited Praça do Comercio, this stylish venue is essentially a tourist trap. The tiny beer mseum section upstairs has ten posters telling the visitor a brief history of beer in Portugal as well as several showcases of beer bottles from bothe the country and its former colonies. The restaurant boasts of having beer from Angola and Moçambque, but had none on offer when I asked for some. Of Portuguese beers the proudly serve the macro urine from Sagres and Super Bock. Not exorbitant prices but nt low, either. Well, been here done that. Time to go someahere else. |
26 Huge tourist trap terrace and pub near the Cais de Sodre transport hub. Others have gone into detail with this, but all I can say it is hardly worth the effort. Packed with tour groups so we didn't bother with the so called beer museum. The odd tins of imported beer. |
50 As others have pointed out this is a smart looking tourist bar & restaurant overlooking the huge Praça da Commercio square and impressive Arca da Rua Augusta archway. If you’re a snap-happy insta-tourist you’re going to end up here at some point. The ‘beer museum’ part seems a ploy to draw tourists in.. its located upstairs and costs €5, consusting of various Portuguese beer memorabilia although from what i can see you can just wander around for free when using the toilet also upstairs. We wanted to relax and enjoy the January sun after a morning walking around so just paid up the €6 for an Angola tick. It is what it is. Good amount of beer from Portuguese-speaking islands and countries like Mozambique and Madeira, though bare in mind various shops nearby sell the Angola beer in a can for €1. Also be aware of potential pick-pockets keeping an eye on people leaving these bars. |
46 Most pointless place in Lisboa for beer, except they do serve some rare countries like Angola and Mozambique. Their house beers are probably Sagres of some sort. Interior is nice thou. Avoid if possible. |
56 Located in the most tourist place in Lisbon probably. View is spectacular here, the square, the sea,… This place is an obvious tourist trap, still despite that they have a fairly decent selection of Portuguese beers including the likes of Oitava Colina, LX etc. The prices are way too high as expected from the location. Service is as expected aimed at turnover, didn’t investigate the food. They have some country ticks listed from Portuguese speaking countries. I didn’t inquire about availability. They offer a few house beers but I am fairly certain that these are rebranded mainstream industrial beers. They have like the worst beer glasses which I have ever seen which they sell for take away, I didn’t go inside. Selection is way better than you would expect but I still cannot recommended given the high prices and tourist trap feel. It is better than you would expect. |
56 Visited on November 2017. Central location with a couple of country ticks (Angola and Moçambique). Little expensive. Dind not visited the museum, just the bar. Next one please! |
56 The view is nice, big central square and the sea. No beers from either Angola or Mozambique at my visit. Expensive. |
58 The key point of this place is the location - while several beer points in the city that play a different league are off a regular tourist walk, Museu is right in the middle of all touristic boom, which comes of course with a price - all beers are too expensive. The museum is a decent thought not uninteresting display of Portugese brewing history and the macros that does not go too scholar. Sip one or two in their interesting glass while getting familiar with more hot beer spots in the city. |
