Northside Lounge & Brooks Brewery

Looks like your average English bar. Four house beers on tap (Brooks Brewery) and a few local guest taps. As to food, Cheesesteak was pretty good. Fries not so much.

Stopped here today to checkout the new brewery in the basement opened 2 weeks ago...but realized I’d never rated the bar itself. The brewery is called Brooks Brewery and it does not yet have a RateBeer listing but probably shouldn’t given it’s in the basement and you can’t visit it. Four of their beers are currently on tap at the Northside bar upstairs (but it doesn’t seem like a separate taproom is coming). Now technically this would in effect be a brewpub and one business...but I was told they needed to (or it was easier/cheaper to) have two separate businesses...hence the different names...Northside Lounge (been around for years) and the Brooks Brewery...but again...really one place for all intents and purposes (you can’t visit one and not the other). So the Northside Lounge is a bar that’s been around for awhile...and that has added craftbeers over the years. Their selection is decent enough...if not very large. The draw here is a neighborhood bar...lots of locals (but not only)...a really great outdoor garden...and some very good food. Check this place out when in the area (not far from I287).

Very good selection of craft beer, many that you won’t see elsewhere in Jersey. It’s a working class bar in a working class town so the crowd is diverse and always interesting. The food’s real good.

Great little place with an outstanding selection. They always seem to keep a great variety while not tapping the hit of the week by whomever is releasing whatever new or one off is on the market. That’s what keeps me coming back...they have a plan as to keep us guessing with variety and substance. The food menu compliments the beer very well. Try the ipa brined fries. I would also check out their website for live music and what drafts are on-deck

Good concept, poorly executed due to bartender and their local friends.

Neat little craft beer joint just outside of the center of town in Manville, NJ. Very much worth a stop if you’re a craft beer fan. Looks like a neighborhood bar from the outside, but this is a really friendly place - good people, and the staff always greet with a smile. The owner and beer manager both were friendly and ready to geek out about the beers they had on draft - great experience. Food is very good too. Bar menu is always available, but the full menu is only available for lunch on Friday and Saturday, and for dinner Weds-Sun. Nice spot, I will certainly return!

Greatest craft beer selection in the area! Growlers are now available for carry out. Very reasonable prices and friendly, knowledgeable bartenders
