2013-12-14. First impression when we walked in is of a bar sandwiched between two living rooms. We parked our butts on a comfy couch and worked our way through samplers of the taps. Bottle list is impressive but I quickly realised that a lot of what had caught my eye was in large bottles ranging from $30-50. Given the rarity and quality of them the prices are fair, but a large dinner before hand and a big bottle of Tart of Darkness ultimately sent me back to the hotel earlier than I would have liked :( Bartender was super friendly, and very helpful and graciously put up with a lot of questions from me! :) Would definitely go back if I was in Miami. Its a shame they are closing.

Visited on a Tuesday evening. In attendance was a mix of accountants, Latinos, weirdy beardys, and a couple of dudes who appeared to be having a book club. Trivia night kicked in at 9 pm, and everyone was in a great mood having a blast. The beer selection is vast, two large books of beers on draft, and in the bottle. Some really unique and rare beers on offer, though prices were understandably high for a few of them (Cascade Kriek 750 - $40, for example). Service was fantastic, prompt knowledgeable, and really fun to hang out with. Impressive, considering she was the only person working for most of the time I was there. Highlight of the night was when two cute young girls sat down, and the Latinos and weirdy beardies were all over them. Love this place, reminded me of how bars used to be.

82 = ★★★½ (Solid place, near the top of the list for locals and visitors)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Best beer bar in Miami and beyond...no question. Great atmosphere in a small backstreet house a bit off the beaten path...but not really far from the crowded places just the same. Diego is a very good host and the beer selections...taps and bottles are quite nice. I found good examples of American micros in addition to local FL beers. The space in side is dark, laid back, and relaxing...couches or bar stools...whatever you feel like. I highly recommend Abraxas to any craftbeer lover in the area...or novice looking to expand their horizons. Great place to meet nice people and strike up a conversation too.

Visited on December 2, 2012, with a bunch of friends. We got there not that long after 7 pm when they opened and was very quiet until we showed up. I left around 2 am and it was still our group who were the biggest attendance, loudest and bought the most beers. Fair amount of taps and good amount of bottles. Some of the bottles tasted sort of old though. Easy enough walk from Miami Beach, not a whole lot of places to eat close though once you left the beach walk. Decent service. Neighbourhood is a bit dodgy perhaps, one friend asked me to walk her to her taxi. Toilet (was only 1 I think) had what looked as a keg storage in it, made you wonder at first if you took the worng door. Best selection in Miami that I’ve found, I’ll likely go back next time in Miami.

A decent place with about 20 or so taps of good beers across the country with a few CCB on tap. however, the place is very small, service is somewhat shoddy and its smokey as hell!!!! Needs an outdoors area to make it alot better.

Easily the best place I have visited so far in Miami. Abraxas is a dark, laid-back lounge bar with a great beer selection. They have a well chosen selection of twelve taps - Bells Two-Hearted ale was on so that kept me more than happy. They have a regular beer menu with their year-round beers and a special menu and blackboard which highlights the seasonal and hard to get stuff. On this visited I opted for the DFH 75min IPA and CCB Sugar Plum, but there is plenty here to keep me going for a very long time. The owner Diego is a friendly and knowledgeable guy - he even bought me a beer! Prices seem good for what you get. If I stayed in Miami this is where I would be spending most of my time. I hope to return soon.

Great bar tucked away in a residential part of the beach so it’s far away from all the loudness of SB. Really quiet and great atmosphere. Beer selection here is pretty good - great selection of bottled beers about 200 or so, and a great tap selection as well and it’s always rotating. This bar also has a lot of very nice events.

Hands down, the best beer bar in Miami. Excellent list, which rotates in new selections regularly. No douchey-SoBe attitude; patrons & employees are actually FRIENDLY. Cool, laid back vibe; plus, its as big as The Room and The Abbey put together, so you’re not crushed into a tiny space. Now that they’re back to operating a full schedule, they have happy hour 5-9 PM daily. Add to that Pub Trivia every Tuesday for the chance to win free beer, and you’ve got a winning combination.

Owner & bartenders know about their beers and make great recommendations. atmosphere is quiet, dark, and laid back. They have a pretty amazing trivia night, if you win you don’t have to pay your tab! The beer selection is great for such a small place (for any size place really). The pricing is moderate and the only real downside is that they don’t offer food. But if you just want a chill little spot to have conversation and some amazing beers... this is one of the (very) few places in miami to do so!
