A bohemian vibe and product everywhere with no real rhyme or reason. Service was pleasant, but distracted. They have an adjoining restaraunt and patio. Taps are few and not interesting on either side. Selection was small but they had things I have never seen anywhere else in Portland. Pricey though. If you are looking for something that is sold out or unique, go here, but it is a bit off the beaten path to make a specific trip.

Stopped in for the crux and crooked stave release cbc week. The place was not super packed so that was nice. Still had to wait in line for a beer but hey it is cbc week. Nice place with lots of tables and a good looking bottle selection next door.

Can easily range from pub-garden get-together to sexy and intimate date night. Beer and cocktails at the bar and a groovy bottle shop to peruse next door.

Totally unexpected stop, as we happened to be on this street and just popped in. Glad we did. First of all, it smelled outrageously delicious and wish we had been hungry as the menu was fantastic and the nose rarely lies--they obviously take their food seriously. Second, the beer selections were impressive, and the menu board changed while we were sitting there so we have heavy rotations here. Interesting picks with beers we did not see at other bars. Third, ambiance may be a little biased as the music was great when we were there but that is of course subject to change. Overall, though, highly recommended especially if you feel like combining with Saraveza, which is a 10 min walk down the same road. Both worth visiting, both very different from one another.

Attended Zwanze Day 2012 here. Obviously not representative of a typical day here, but I will review my experience nevertheless. The good: Nice ambient with friendly staff. Awesome taplist for with a sour tap takeover. Though pricy, still fair for what you got. Good brunch food as well. The bad: they messed up the tap connections, so I when I ordered several beers at the beginning, I got mostly the wrong pours and had to come back when I realized my Upright BA Seven was purple (huh?). Staff made several promises that they would come by our table with Zwanze 2012 beer, but forgot and we had to go up to the bar ourselves. The lineup was moderate, but went excruciatingly slow, taking an hour to get through a few dozen people. Overall: the event had many organizational flaws and hopefully they will correct all of them for subsequent events.

A very short walk from other beer spots on killingsworth, this is many businesses in one focusing on craft beer and my visit was focused mostly on the beer store part. It is fairly well laid out, spacey and while the interior is mostly on concrete, they seem to have done a good job at making one feel welcome through the friendly service and at making it feel warm enough through minimalistic decoration. Something like 200 bottles, including rarities (HOTD/Deschutes Collage, some Russian River, Cascade) figured on the shelves. They were priced perhaps on the high side, but nothing exagerated. I don’t think I saw anything that was not at either John’s market place or Belmont Station, but I suspect it must happen from time to time that a good bottle is here and not at the others’. So all in all, not an essential, but certainly worth stepping into if you are on killingsworth.

This is an excellent place to find world class beer. Prices are a bit high, but there are hard to find varieties here. Nice rustic atmosphere in beer portion (versus the eatery other half of the building)

Beer , bar, bottle shop all in one. They have it all food also. Good selection of beers and wines to sell to go. The brews on tap where top notch. This is in the same area as many others and wow they did a great job putting this together. 500+ bottles plus 15+ taps you will find something you have never had. No parking so good luck.

No off street parking. In a building I forget what it used to be. Some what dark but comfortable chair and tables. Very knowledgeable staff. Beers seemed rather heavy for the weather but were all tasty, and they had Bam Saison. Food service was slow, but the grill and cooled and they could not, as they explained, bring my steak underdone. Rather pricy for what you get, but still a good deal. And they run a bottle shop next door.

Cozy little place near Denver Avenue on Killingsworth. They’ve done a nice fusion of beer and wine where they can coexist. Food is amazing with fresh ingredients and creative dishes. Large selection of bottles, and they hook you up with discounts for bulk to-go purchases. Like a dollar off for a mix-matched six pack, or case discounts.
