76 Visited 04/13/2015 on my trip to PA. Not too hard to find but the location is in a strip plaza. Parking wasn’t bad but to be expected from a location like this. We arrived in the early afternoon on our way to the airport. Little to no one inside but based on the time I expected that. Place does serve food but we didn’t eat. Plenty of bar and decent table seating with a good amount of taps. We did two flights with beer ranging from OK to good. One style was obviously off and when talking to one of the brewers they were still dialing in the recipe. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. There was a newhire in training that I was eavesdropping in on and I was impressed with the training. Trainer did a good job describing the process, styles, flavor, aroma, and suggestions to someone that was new to craft beer. The training did also include tasting and a few questions on each one. Good job with the training. Would visit again if I am in the area. |
86 Really cool industrial feel with big tables and good food to go along with their wonderful beer. A nice view of the brewery and bottling line. |
90 First the food, the pizza is really great, some of the best especially the pepper, onion and sausage.Next the beer, extremely fresh offerings and great beers not on tap at other bars.Just had the 360 ipa and it was so well balanced. Can’t go wrong with this place. |
82 Really cool place to hang out and have a few beers and a bite to eat. The atmosphere is completely relaxed. There aren’t any servers to either be on your back all the time or nowhere to be found. You handle ordering all your food and drinks and do it at your own pace. The pizzas are very delicious, as are the sliders. They have essentialy every Sly Fox beer available here, as they should - because the tastin room is at the brewery. You can’t get any fresher than that. The outdoor seating is really nice, too, when the weather is cooperating. |
80 Really enjoyed visiting. The staff and tour guide were really nice. They had a nice living social deal that got you a tshirt with a tour. Tour was very informative. Was the most educational tour I’ve been too. Pizza was really good and facilities were clean. Only two beer choices outside of regular shipping line. Not very scenic. Nice seeing the canning process in a microbrewery setting. Would definitely recommend for anyone to go. |
92 First off, let’s cut to the chase and get to my only beef with this place. The term "Tastin’ Room" sucks, and needs to be changed to Tasting Room pronto. Bad grammar may fly since this place is only a mile from the Wal Mart Super Center, but it doesn’t fly with me. Now, on to the rest of the review. They have 20-24 beers here, this is the main brewing location for Sly Fox, so all the new releases will be here first, the pizza is the best I have ever eaten, the servers were intelligent, friendly gentlemen, and most growler fills are 6-8 bucks. If I can’t get at least 6-7 Hell Yeahs and follow up reviews in at least the high 80s, then you assholes are slipping :) Oh, and I hear the BBQ is awesome, too. |
