72 Visited a couple months ago. Decent beer selection, a few things I haven’t had and some other good stuff I have had. Dogfish head, Mammoth, Rogue, and a few more obscure things. They were out of a couple things I wanted. They have Hawaiian food like spam and eggs, pulled pork, etc, and burgers. Had a Kobe Burger topped with a fried egg over easy, bacon and blue cheese with fries. It’s like $12, so expensive, but a really good burger. Ambiance is fine, Hawaiian style decor, chill. Server wasn’t very personable, but the service was timely and accurate. |
90 If your in Reno and looking for a new beer, this is the place. With 41 taps your sure to find a new beer. They also rotate 5 plus handles on a regular basis. Not to mention that the food is great. A must try. The bar staff is very knowledgeable with the beers. |
80 This place just opened up a couple days ago, and we stopped by after hearing about something Hawaiian with forty-something taps (and right near Whole Foods). Beer is a fine vehicle for grocery shopping. This place really does have forty taps, and it really is full of chewy Hawaiian Tiki goodness, but in a TGIF vein. Basically, a chain restaurant with friendly, knowledgeable staff (at least at the bar) and a great beer selection: Kona, Scrimshaw, Pilsner Urquell (gotta love some good, crisp pilsners on tap), Lost Coast, Alaskan, Rogue, Big Sky, etc. seasonals. Young’s Double Chocolate Stout, Old Raspy, Bond Street Hop Trip, Mammoth 395 IPA, Old Chub, Double Dead Guy. My hand got tired. Most of the stuff on tap is solid, while rubbish is confined to the bottles. A really nice stop, probably the only place in town peddling the Rogue John’s Locker Stock releases, and, if I ate beef, I’m sure the Kobe burgers are delightful. (Though I still find the notion of a "slider" kind of gross.) |
